So, I was going to preorder THE FACE, when I remembered what someone said about YesAsia. Is it true that they don't share revenue with artists, or did I misunderstand? All I know was that I was told not to order from there if I wanted to support the artist. I hope someone can clear this up for me so I know where to order from...

"Korean music products at YesAsia.com are sourced from distributors in Korea, and are reflected on the music sales charts reported by the Music Industry Association of Korea."

That was copied right from yesasia. I'm not sure about japanese or chinese items though. I will check back with you on that one.

Edit: It doesn't specifically say anything about the japanese products, so it might not reflect on the amount of sales but I'm sure since it is HER cd she will still get some profit as long as it's not a boot leg or something....o.o But I dunno.

Do not make this mistake. Buy your CD at CDjapan only to boost BoA's record sell count, yesasia does not boost her count.

A quote from Kuraudo, our fellow mod.. :P
I believe what he is saying is true..Sales at yesasia do not count in to the Oricon Chart..

It's just like how it is with Korean products; it's not like the CDs magically appear through the air. They have to go to a source to get them, thus the items they have in stock are already counted towards their respective countries' sales.

If you buy something from YesAsia, YOUR purchase will directly go to YesAsia because they've already purchased the product from their source.

Yesasia only counts for Korean CDS on the chart.
It doesn't count for Oricon.

well, yesasia is generally cheaper than other places that sell asian CDs, so that's probably why people shop there. (I know that's why I do haha :P )

They don't specificly count towards the Japanese chart, but there are also many stores in japan that don't [independant stores] so what Oricon do is make a rough estimate of how many of the album are sold through these stores and add them onto the total of the weeks sales - so your purchase will cont in some way :)
