as i was about to checkout on yesasia when pre-ordering BoA's the face tour, i realized that it's the japanese version...it's region code is 2 (only japan, europe, etc.) and wouldn't be compatible with my region 1 macbook from the u.s. then i checked on cd japan and cd universe only to find that they're also selling region 2 versions. since it's my first time buying, i was just wondering if other region versions come out after the official release. i don't want to purchase a dvd that won't play on my comp...any suggestions?

get a region killer (program).

I have one on my PC, and it just makes it so that the computer will read the disc to region 0 (free region) and you can play any DVD from any region.
I don't know if they have any for Mac, though.

I believe based on past DVD releases, the other type of formatting would be region 3 (hong kong, taiwan). I have yet to see a BoA DVD come as region 1.
your best bet may be a region free DVD player.
that or a program that allows your computer to be region free.

To run international DVD's on your macbook, just use VLC Media Player.

When you pop in the DVD, the region code notice pops up, but just put it aside and open VLC Media Player and run the DVD. Should run fine.

if you will see in your comp, just download anydvd and watch without problems! it makes your comp run any type of DVD region
