Singer BoA has once again brought good news from the U.S.
According to Billboard, which is the most prominent album and music sales research website and magazine in the U.S., BoA’s ‘Energetic’ occupied 50th place on genre chart ‘Hot Dance/Club Play Song’ on the 22nd (weekly). BoA’s ‘Energetic’ has most recently showed the strength of spending 12 continuous weeks in the top 50 on the ‘Hot Dance/Club Play Song’ chart.
After BoA’s ‘Energetic’ first entered Billboard’s ‘Hot Dance/Club Play Song’ chart in 40th place on March 13th, it came in 17th place on April 24th and recorded its highest position.
Billboard’s ‘Hot Dance Club Play Song’ is a chart which compiles and ranks songs played at major clubs across the U.S. on a weekly basis. In BoA’s case, ‘Eat You Up,’ which was released for the first time in the U.S. as a digital single towards the end of 2008, spent 14 continuous weeks in the top 50 of this chart during the beginning of last year.
In particular, this Billboard chart placement by BoA is garnering more attention due to the fact that it was achieved with a song that is over a year-old.
‘Energetic,’ which has a strong hip-hop beat, was promoted along with the title song ‘I Did It For Love’ from BoA’s official American debut album which was released in March of last year, and was released as the sole summer single.
Meanwhile, in March of last year BoA became the first Korean singer to enter Billboard’s main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ (127th place) with her self-titled American debut album ‘BoA.’
