Anyone who says that movies aren't filmed in Canada either hasn't really looked into it, or is in some serious denial. Many movies are filmed in Canada because it's cheaper than shooting it on location in America. When the first Scream movie was produced, for example, Wes Craven wanted to shoot in Northern California, but the producers told him to shoot in Vancouver because it would be a million dollars cheaper to film. Ultimately, Craven won and was able to film where he wanted, but he really had to fight for it.

Anyway, instead of listing a bunch of movies, I'll let these lists do the talking for me:

But, yeah, I wouldn't pay too much attention to sites like allkpop. I'm not trying to start anything and please forgive my boldness here, but the more I hear about the site, the more it seems like it's overrun with immature children (though it could be that I'm 24 and might as well be an old, crotchety lady who sits on her porch, yelling at children to get off of her lawn).

As for what I'd like to see for BoA -- Ideally, she has a song in this movie that she can promote as a single around the time the movie is released. She could then put that single onto an album and use the success of the single (and possibly the movie) to propel the success of her album. Of course, she would also have to do a lot of performances on various talk shows, but.. talking about marketing strategy regarding stuff like that, I suppose, is another topic for another day.

I find that the fans, the new k-pop fans, of the idol groups are crazy and pretty immature. At concert, they can scream very loud and do all kinds of things. Sometimes, I find that BoA's fans did not scream as loud as them. However, I am not bother since I think that BoA's fans are older (lots of us are older than new k-pop fans), more mature and know how to respect other artists. It does not mean that BoA's fans are not as strong as other groups' fans. I have a very valid evidence for this. BoA was in top 5 selling artist last year in Korea. How many idol groups did not make it to the list? Many. 2PM, Wonder Girls and many more. BoA's fans don't act in the superficial sense like scream and doing all those crazy stuffs. We support BoA in a more subtle and respectful way.

However, we do not have any rights to tell them to like BoA or to give credit to BoA because they also have the right to have their own references. They can like whatever they want. They just should not talk disrespectfully to BoA. That's the point where we should speak up like what Cori did.

I think that I just don't like any Kpop general portal. Either because of the fans on there or because of a majority of the staff. However, I need allkpop to keep up with EVERYONE and I don't want to have to log onto 20+ sites everyday to know something about a singer/group I listen to haha. I just ignore the comment area as much as possible.

Mix too many different personalities, not a good combination.

i hope through this cobu movie BoA will be the first successful asian artist from Asia, whether is it as a singer or an actress, to crossover to America... the one thing i love about BoA is how she is a cultural icon between japan and Korea... she can be another world cultural icon by paving the way for asian music/movie scene (she be the next ricky martin or even better, next michael jackson haha) ..... hope to see her in the wax museum ;)

and yeah.... i think BoA reminds me of ricky martin in some ways.... ricky martin paved the way for latin singers like enrique, sharkira and J Lo to crossover to the USA but today he was labelled as an 'expired' product because he took 5 years break before making a comeback this year.... sounds familiar right... same for BoA haha... no respect for these people when they are the ones who made a social change to their respective music industry.... what are idol groups? those idol groups in Korea are seriously, no offense, nothing by a by-product of Western music... they make generic sound... seriously..there's nothing special about them but fans are just so defensive.... if you ask me, those korean fans of idol groups are just so insecure about BoA's success, and so the only way to protect their own idol groups is to bash other people's greatness....

BoA should just focus on USA and Japan (the two biggest music industries), especially the latter cos Japan loves her more than Korea hahaha

I feel that out of all K-pop fans, it is the BoA fans that are most mature.

Maybe because we are more matured than other fan bases. If you watched that Japanese TV show, it showed how most of BoA's fans are either University students, graduates with permanent jobs, people with families, or whole families.

Or maybe because BoA fans have been through a lot, since 2001:
  • The Korean debut
  • The Japanese debut (she was ignored by Japan at first and she had a lot of backlash from Korea)
  • BoA's first peak in Korea and Japan which resulted in the title "Asia's Most Influential Artist" around 2004
  • By 2005, BoA was and still the only remaining solo K-pop artist by who's sales can compare to the new debuting idol groups
  • BoA's hiatus in Korea and focus in Japan from 2006 - 2009, BoA finally became considered a "local" Japanese artist (a big deal since it meant Japan accepts BoA like a Japanese person, not Korean). BoA's J-pop releases are not considered "Hallyu" (Korean Wave) but rather pure Japanese pop.
  • American debut in 2008, regained some level of respect from Korea and Japan, but most of the support came from International fans
  • Korean comeback in 2010 which resulted in BoA finally being named "Queen of K-pop" (8 years overdue)

I feel that BoA fans generally keep quiet from speaking about other artists, we basically just mind our own business. Plus we understand how K-pop, J-pop and American market usually work than any other fan base.

BoA fans HAD to anyways, when BoA was active in Korea we had to educate ourselves on how K-pop works. When BoA debut in Japan, we educated ourselves how J-pop works. Then when USA debut we had to find out how the American market works, things like radio tours, club promotions, etc. (these things never really happen in Japan/Korea, or very minimal)

^because you're doing it wrong.

You need to reupload the image to an image hosting site like Imageshack.us or photobucket.com then use the direct link with the proper [ img ] tags around it.

Lockerz doesn't allow hotlinking.

We recommend using Imageshack.us or Photobucket.com. We have an account, however that is for staff use only. It doesn't cost anything to sign up and host images. So we're not making you "fend for yourself" it's a matter of a few steps. Right click > save the image > go to Imageshack.us/Photobucket.com > log in > hit "browse" > locate the image you have saved and would like to reupload in your computers folders > hit "open" after you have selected your image > hit "upload now" > then copy the "direct link"

This is how it's always been with reuploading an image if the original site the image is located at does not allow hot linking.
