i think that everyone should be free to believe in whatever they want to. whatever helps them get through life or whatever makes them into the type of human being they want to be.
what makes people "whackjobs" is when they have some mentality that their religion, or lack of one, makes them superior to others. that is wrong.

Anyway, I also believe that this board should be closed. There is nothing to DISCUSS here, and if there WAS, it should have been posted in Serious Discussions since Religion is a very serious and contraversial issue and should be treated as such.

Mmm, there is a lot you can discuss. But here, I don't think that's possible XD

Not in Serious Discussions either :)

THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it"

The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

If what you say is true, God must be really cruel and spiteful if he sunk an entire ship with thousands of people on it just because of what one person said :) Was he doing it to prove his power or something? Is that what you're saying? Elaborate please

BON SCOTT:
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
"Don´t stop me, I´m going down all the way, wow the highway to hell".
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his vomit.

Well then why did 50 Cent get shot 9 times and still live even though his lyrics are so profane? Why isn't 99.9% of the US population "getting what they deserve", because I'm never met an American who has never said "Go to hell" or "Oh my god" [or worse] in his/her life.

For all the people who believe in God-- that's fine, but do you really think topics like these will really make people not "doubt" God. If anything, people will be afraid of him and I doubt God would want that, right? :smartass:

Actually, I intended my comments to be a sort of "public service" thing. The topic creator obviously believes the Bible is the "literal word of God," as well as a few other members here. This is due to a lack of proper education and exposure to the word at large. Perhaps its their parent's fault. Perhaps it's society in general. Perhaps we can't do anything about it. But at least here on BoAjjang, I don't have to see or tolerate that kind of narrow-minded brainwashed rhetoric. The Bible is a work of fiction. It may be symbolic as BoA*fanatic says, but it is not the literal word/philosophy of a Supreme Being. All Holy Books and religions are creations of human beings. They come from the minds of human beings. You can say that a Supreme Being "inspired" a human to write a book, but even if that were true, that's very different than actually writing the book yourself.

At the very least, I hope that the topic creator and the few who disagreed with me will read through the above paragraph. I hope that some part of that message will sink through. If it doesn't, well, so be it.

Doesn't really affect my life. Religion has never played a big role in my life and it never will.

Oh, before I forget, I wonder how many Christians/Catholics realize that Jesus Christ, when he walked the face of this planet, was actually a dark-skinned Jew. I wonder what Mohammed would think about his followers using the religion he founded as an excuse to murder innocent women and children, even while the same murderers are using illicit drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, and having promiscuous sex. I wonder what Gluskap would think about his people promoting gambling (opening casinos), thereby creating an addiction, and ruining people's lives. I could go on and on, but what would be the point?

In my first reply in this topic, I stated that "religious whackjobs should be shot." No one should be offended by that comment unless they classify themself as a religious whackjob. Now if you do indeed classify yourself as such, I suggest you look up the meaning of the phrase and get psychological help.

This topic should remain open until the topic creator reads through the replies.

If then, the majority of you guys feel the topic should be closed, that it's not creating a forum for insightful discussion, I'll close it then.

In the end, after all, it's just IMO.

^ I agree. That's great for all of you who believe strongly in your religion, but why force it on other people? I find it really annoying when people try to manipulate people into believing what they want them too or they'll be punished

Hypocrite? That what you mean?

Yes. I mean that someone who goes around making posts [and boards], preaching about "following the bible" and "believing in god" posts pictures of a kitten with a gun to their neck? I'm sure that's appropriate.

I don't find that picture funny at all, I think it's cruel. I love animals

Finding a picture like that to be funny is disgusting [in my opinion]. Maybe someone could explain the humor of it to me, because otherwise, I just don't see it :)

---

People can bash me if they like, everyone has their own opinions and I choose to state mine. Feel free to disagree with me if you can explain yourself and prove me wrong, I don't mind.

In my own personal opinion, I believe that people who group together to believe in the same thing and detest those who aren't with them are a little crazy to me. Sure, my parents *try* to disown me for not believing in a major religion. I believe there's SOME FORCE out there, but not one that I will sit around and worship all my life along with everyone else. This is just me (maybe other people, i dunno).

Honestly though, if this topic isn't going to be closed, it should at least be moved to Serious Discussions :smartass:

It seems more "serious" than a decent chunk of the topics that ARE in Serious Discussions :) lol

JWu didn't "trigger" me  I am capable of having my own thoughts and opinions, along with everyone else. You just don't like it because people don't agree with you. That's life, get over it.
