Song With No Name ~ Namae no Nai Uta
Posted 14 January 2004 - 07:48 PM
(note: of course, since the album doesn't come out until tomorrow, no one really knows the official lyrics [i.e. how they are constructed, which kanji are used, etc.], but these sound right and make sense)
(also note: similar to "Every Heart" and its various versions, there are lines that don't really blend into the translation. In "Every Heart," you had to ignore it every time she sang "Every Heart" for the lyrics to make sense. In this song, I put parentheses around the "A song for..." lines, to make this construction clearer.)
Kuchibiru hanarete yuugure no sora ni
Into the distant evening sky, my lips sing
Á‚¦‚Äs‚ melody –¼‘O‚Ì‚È‚¢‰Ì
Kiete yuku melody namae no nai uta
A melody that will disappear; a song with no name
Dareka taisetsu na omoide datta
That was once someonefs precious memories
Yuuki no kakera wo sotto kureta
And secretly gave them splinters of courage.
(A song for you, a song for me)
Kasuka ni kikoeru
I will faintly hear it
(A song for her, a song for him)
Itsuka no bamen ga
In a scene, once upon a time.
(A song for boys, a song for girls)
Dareka ga furimuku
Someone will turn their head,
(A song for friends, a song for lovers)
Kokoro ni kanjiru
And will feel it in their heart.
Yasashii kotoba de tsutsunde agetai
Wanting to envelop you in kind words
Merodii wa umare soshite kiete yuku
A melody will be born and it will disappear,
Kizutsuita ai wo iyasu kusuri datta
Having been a remedy to heal a broken love,
Nemurenai yoru no komoriuta datta
Having been a lullaby on a sleepless night.
(A song for dreams, a song for tears)
Jidai wo samayoi
Wandering around the times,
(A song for winds, a song for rain)
Yozora ni kagayaku
It shines in the night sky.
(A song for stars, a song for lovers)
Kioku no katasumi
In the corner of a memory
(A song for a cry, a song for a smile)
Kokoro de utau yo
I will sing it with my heart.
