#2311642 [1st? KR Mini Album] ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT / 2018.02.21 Release

Posted by Cori on 23 February 2018 - 04:58 PM

I've found with newer kpop fans they like variety in artists. They want a group where they can pick a "favorite." It might also be the fact that they think she "doesn't need the support because she's BoA" (BoA's least favorite thing said about her). I agree she shouldn't be competing with Red Velvet and NCT, even though they are targeting younger people. What is surprising is that the demographic she is kind of targeting all have more money then they did as teens. They can afford to buy a $15 CD now. I remember having to BEG for a new BoA album when it came out, "Please! Count this as an early birthday present!" when my birthday wouldn't be for 5 more months.

#2311563 Vote for new mod and Chrome "WARNING" issue

Posted by Cori on 20 February 2018 - 07:33 PM

Now that we pretty much decided who is going to be our new admin can you please fix the thing with our avatar? I can’t change it
I want to change mine. I’ve been using this one for 6 years lol

This seems to be something that was disabled in the backend. I am really unfamiliar with this backends system so I am on the look for where this function can be re-enabled. I do have contact with the forum owner but I would like to see if it's an issue I can handle by myself so he doesn't have to. Thanks for pointing it out!

#2311461 Vote for new mod and Chrome "WARNING" issue

Posted by Cori on 18 February 2018 - 07:46 AM

Hello everyone. As you can see, BoAjjang is kind of becoming a ghost town. However, I realize there are still a number of you that enjoy BoAjjang in smaller ways than before and want to make sure that you still have a good experience together. I've gone through and taken out a number of pages of spam/phishing posts, as well as banned these accounts.

They can come back, though.

And since I haven't been able to come on as much as I used to, I want to make sure there is someone here that will take care of these issues asap. Taking from the topic Can a Mod fix this mess? I have added two people that are well and willing to help out, deleting spam threads and banning phishing accounts. Please vote for which one you think would best suit this purpose. I don't just want to give this responsibility to someone that the returning members don't entirely know or trust.

Feel free to also nominate people. Like I said, I don't get on much anymore so I don't really know who is active to take on this responsibility (or WANTS to). I can add people to poll.

For the Google Chrome issue, please start reporting that this site is no longer an issue. When you are given that "Deceptive Site Ahead" warning, you can hit the "Details" button at the bottom. This will expand, giving you a couple new links to choose from. To visit the site on chrome, hit the "visit this unsafe site" link. It might just bring you back to it, but what I have found is if I go up to the URL box and hit enter again, it works. For those willing to help remove this, hit the "report a detection problem." This will prompt a form from google. Input the forums.boajjang.com URL, check the box, and type in the comments something along the lines of "Phishing attempts no longer an issue. Forum is being monitored daily." This might help reverse the warning, so people on google chrome no longer have an issue logging on.

Thank you!

I'm going through them today to take them all out and delete/ban the accounts. I'm also going to open a thread with your recommendations on who to upgrade to moderator status. I'm sorry I don't get on much, but please feel free to email me directly at any time with issues on the forum: aniroc192@yahoo.com.

#2273386 [NEWS] "Make Your Move" to be in US theatres in April

Posted by Cori on 01 February 2014 - 01:02 PM

3 years after filming began for BoA's debut US film, then called "COBU 3D" now called "Make Your Move", and countless of maybe release dates for the US, it seems like Duane Adler and his team are ready for its official release on April 18 after YAHOO! published a trailer on their "Make Your Move" movie page.

Not much else has been released for the film. No MPAA rating nor critic reviews.

Although the movie has already been released in various countries overseas and can be purchased online, who is planning to still go see it in theatres? Tell us in the comment section below!

#2253673 BoA sings for KBS Drama "Shark"

Posted by Cori on 27 May 2013 - 06:36 AM

I really like the song! But, still not too impressed by her singing. Can't help but compare this to "Mist" as they're both osts, and she sounds amazing in that song.

Oh wow! Never heard that song before but wow! You're right! But of course both are really good songs but yeah I agree "Mist" is way better.

"Mist" is rather beautiful. However whenever I think of BoA singing a OST I always think of "Sunshine" from the movie "Love Me Not"

I always really loved that OST.

"Between Heaven and Hell" is nice because it puts BoA in this cool tango beat that we have never seen her in before. Also, she seems to have learned from her Kpop Star trainees as much as they have learned from her :)

#2253446 [Italian fans] Fan account translation

Posted by Cori on 11 May 2013 - 08:50 AM

They made her sound like a plastic from 'Mean Girls'.
I don't understand how yelling across the way and expecting her to look then look away is that bad. What was she supposed to do? Wave? Asking her for permission to take photos is nice, but who is to say they actually did or were intending to.

I have been in this same situation. A group of my friends and I went to iHOP after SMTown LA 2010 (I think it was 2010...) and we ran into Jessica from SNSD/Girls Generation. She was eating at a booth and we didn't want to bother her while she was eating so we let her be. However, when she got up from her table, we did as well and talked to her in the lobby. We asked for her autograph and it WAS really awkward, as it should be, unfortunately. This is someone you think you know personally, but really, you don't. They know NOTHING about you. They don't know your intentions even if you say you're a fan. Some fans are crazy.

She could have said no, and I am pretty sure we would have understood. Granted, we might have been a little upset, but in the end they're just people. People that just have a different life of being in the public. BoA probably didn't appreciate the fact that they just waited outside a store for her and kept trying to approuch her. She's a very introverted person, sits at home by herself, watches movies with her dog, etc. Yes, she did have "friends" there but how many of them are friends or work friends? She isn't very social.

When I saw her in NYC at her MTViggy performance, in between takes of questions, she didn't talk with us, she talked with SuChin Pak a majority of the time because she knew her. We said small things to her and she conversed, but it usually went back to talking with SuChin which is fine.

#2253441 [NEWS] BoA tweets to Italian fans

Posted by Cori on 11 May 2013 - 07:53 AM

After a number of Italian Kpop fans reporting incidents of BoA giving fans the cold shoulder while she is out and about in Italy, BoA made a personal tweet in reply.

Posted Image

Translated, BoA says "I am now on a trip as a normal human, leaving everything behind.. While enjoying these.. The scent of humanity, the scent of nature.. And so… Please understand that I had no choice but to reject you.." Many BoA fans have favorited the post and retweeted it. Do you think that the Italian fans will continue to bash our Queen of Kpop or do you think that they will come to understand after her public explanation?

To understand what this is refering to, please check out this post by member stufi105 which translates an Italian fans account of BoA here.

If you saw BoA hanging out around your town, enjoying herself, would you approuch her and follow her, or would you leave her at peace? Tell us in the comments below!

#2238952 [FULL RECAP] Cobu 3D: Inside look at KCon 2012

Posted by Cori on 14 October 2012 - 03:49 PM

After months of no word on the release of the long awaited film “COBU 3D”, which features BoA as the main female lead Aya, attendees of KCON 2012 were given a small treat of what is to come sometime earlier next year. COBU 3D: Inside Look panel consisted of Duane Adler, the director and writer of the film, Joel High the music supervisor, and Eric Hetzel the producer. They started off the hour panel with a ten minute exclusive sneak peak of the movie, giving a short description of the film and what fans should expect.

After the video was shown, they went on to say nothing but good things about our BoA.
Duane spoke of how he had found BoA from a friend. After he started writing "Cobu", he could not get BoA out of his mind. Getting into contact with SM Entertainment, Duane sent them the script for BoA to read over. When Duane met with BoA in Tokyo, BoA seemed enthusiastic about the project and liked the fact that Aya was very much like her, even stating that she found Aya "very vulnerable."

The cast worked for 5 weeks prior to filming to learn all the dancing for the film. Duane went on to state that BoA worked her butt off everyday and even surprised her co-star, Derek Hough.

Derek was used to teaching non-dancers how to dance, with BoA, it was totally different and Derek was NOT prepared for BoA's dance skill. The duo soon became very competitive with one another, "but in a friendly way."

Duane went on to tell the audience of how BoA had pulled a prank on him on april fools day. At 2 AM, BoA texted Duane, telling him how he shouldn't be alarmed, but she had just been arrested. Duane tried to call her, multiple times, but she did not answer. He said he started to become very nervous and began to panic. She ended up calling him back, laughing and said "APRIL FOOLS!" Duane went on to say that he would "get her back for that one day!"

There was also talk of other SM Entertainment artists being featured on the movie soundtrack and in the film. Girls' Generation, F(x), TVXQ, and EXO-M member, Kris, will be featured within various songs in the movie. The panel went on to give the audience a sneak peek of two songs that would featured in the film, "Cheap Creeper" sing by Girls' Generation and "Say Yes" sung by Jessica of Girls' Generation, Krystal of f(x), and Kris of EXO-M.

Still no official movie release date has been set for the film, but the panel seems hopeful that it will be coming out early next year.

#2238951 Official COBU 3D Thread

Posted by Cori on 14 October 2012 - 03:29 PM

Hey guys! I ended up going to the Cobu 3D panel as well! I actually asked a question and told them about BoAjjang :D!

I recorded the whole 10 minute exclusive footage that they showed. It does have a slight glare on it, but it's better than nothing, don't you think?
I'll be posting the recording in the news thread that I am currently making about what was said at the panel (I took notes because I am awesome like that)

The staff had nothing but good things to say about BoA. Acting, personality, and professional wise. They actually tried to get her there but she was attending the olympics event...SO CLOSE! AH!!!

^There's my recap!

#2234618 BoA places NO.1 on all Digital Korean music charts.

Posted by Cori on 22 July 2012 - 08:19 AM

BoA takes all kill on digital charts, placing at number one with the title song "ONLY ONE" just 12 hours after the digital release of her 7th Korean album. Fans everywhere are abuzz with news of BoA's return to the music scene with not only 6 new songs, but also a lyrical dance music video to be envious of.

BoA surpassed Psy's "Gangnam Style" on various charts such as Naver and Daum, but stayed in 2nd place on the music charts Melon, Olleh, and Melon for quite some time. Psy's comeback track put up a good fight for a while, but at around midnight, Korean standard time, it was reported that BoA was currently number one on all the digital charts.

Three more of BoA's songs placed in the top 10 chart on Bugs real-time charts!

The album will be available on itunes very soon and you can pre-order your physical copy today at various kpop oriented websites, like Yesasia. There are four different "packages" you can order, the "normal edition" which just encases the album, a "normal edition" with a poster, a "limited edition" with a 48 page photobook, or you could just get everything, the "limited edition" CD, photobook, and poster all in one!

Make sure to support BoA by buying her album, digitally or physically, or maybe even both!

BoA will be making her live comeback on "Inkigayo" on the 29th of July.

If you have been fortunate enough to listen to the album, tell us what your favorite song is and why on our forums!

#2234596 [Confirmed] BoA new album ONLY ONE released on 22 July

Posted by Cori on 22 July 2012 - 07:20 AM

BoA's biggest "competition" seems to be Psy. I personally am not upset at her not pushing past his no.1 spot on Mnet and Melon. Gangnam Style is just sweeping the wave in Korea right now. It isn't too popular amongst international fans, besides the ones that have known Psy for a while and know it isn't a beauty contest with him. Psy just puts out catchy songs with a MV that makes you laugh, he is a comedian-singer after all.

I think, coming from a long time fan stand point, I feel like this album is so unusual for the "category" it's going into and yet, it's awesome. If people in Korea and international Kpop fans can't see 1.How amazing BoA simply is through the album and 2.How it's time to step slowly away from the dance song that repeats the title phrase over and over again, because it's all starting to run into eachother, then they are missing out.

This is an album I hope BoA is proud of because I am proud of HER for it! It's such a breath of fresh air for me, you have no idea! I think, no matter where she places on the charts, we should all rejoice in the fact that the BoA we all fell in love with is making some awesome songs once again. (not saying previous was bad but...it had it's moments).

She will always be our BoA. Singer, dancer, our everything, but as a human being she has touch our hearts in more ways then one and without meeting a hefty majority of us.

#2234418 Let's get BoA's comeback trending!

Posted by Cori on 21 July 2012 - 03:41 PM

I know we've tried this before, but whats the harm in trying again?

Let's get BoA trending with the hash tag "#BoAONLYONE" on twitter! We can do this by at 12 pm KST (this is in about 3 and a half hours), not only should we click the "BUY" button for her digital version of the album, but we should also put in supportive messages to BoA for her comeback on twitter.

Examples of great tweets would be:

"She will always be the queen in my eyes #BoAONLYONE"

"BoA's comeback album is AWESOME! #BoAONLYONE"

Post and reblog others' tweets to see if we can make is into the trending topics of the night on twitter! I know we can do this guys!
