New Korean Album Coming this August

28 February 2010 - 05:44 PM

Here's an exciting news for fellow BoAjjang members. Don't have time to translate the whole article but here are key points:

1) Aug 25, 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of BoA's debut.

2) So... BoA will record a new Korean album to celebrate it!

3) She will start working on the album as soon as she's done with the tour in Japan.

4) The targeted release date is Aug 25, but nothing's set in stone just yet.

5) BoA will probably participate in producing.

BoA Invited to Korean President Inauguration

05 February 2008 - 05:34 AM

Posted ImageBoA is among the many celebrities invited to attend the inauguration ceremony for Lee Myeong-Bak, who was elected the president of South Korea last year, reports Sports Chosun. The ceremony will be held on February 25. However, it is not yet known whether BoA will accept the invitation because of her busy schedule in Japan.

This year's inauguration will likely be a star-studded event, what with the president's close connections with those working in the entertainment industry. The list of invitees besides BoA includes DBSK, SS501, Kwon Sang-Wu and Bae Yong-Jun, who has already declined the invitation.

BoA to Appear in USC Peace Concert?

02 February 2008 - 04:47 AM

A user at Minwoo.com has unearthed the flyer for the 2008 Peace Concert, which will be held at the University of Southern California on April 5. At the bottom-left corner you will see a certain girl with a gigantic crown on her head--yes, that is our BoA.

If the flyer is indeed legitimate, the concert will feature some impressive stars. Top artists such as DBSK, Big Bang, In Soon-I and SE7EN are sure to headline the show alongside BoA, while newcomers including KARA and Wonder Girls will also attract a fair share of K-pop fans in the area.

Is this BoA's first step towards the anticipated U.S. debut? Not likely; this concert is clearly aimed at Korean audience, so expect her typical My Name-Girls on Top routine.

BoA to Debut in America This Year

31 January 2008 - 01:31 AM

Posted ImageOmigod you guys, it’s finally happening. JoongAng Ilbo reports that BoA has been secretly working on an English album and plans to debut in America as soon as later this year. The horror. The excitement.

According to JoongAng, BoA has already finished recording parts of the album in various countries. Orchestrating this secret project at the helm is, of course, Mr. Lee Soo-Man himself, who has been approaching several American labels and producers such as Peter Rafelson, who has worked with Madonna, in order to assess the viability of BoA breaking into the American market.

Why has she been keeping so quiet, while Rain, SE7EN and other Korean artists have been loudly drumming up their plans to venture into the American market? A source at SM Entertainment says they “didn’t want to create too much hype.” Very smart, considering the aforementioned Korean artists, such as Rain, have yet to produce any tangible results.

In March, BoA will have completed recording and further details regarding the new album will be announced. Also, in May, SM will announce more comprehensive future plans for BoA, including the label and the creative staffs involved. We will keep you updated as more information is released.
