Some may even say an impossible dream, but they would like to think otherwise. Rebecca and Sharon are members of BoAjjang.com and have recently been contacted by Anycall, a Korean mobile phone distributor, part of the Samsung Group. Rebecca and Sharon, better known as DGDY, fell in love with Anycall's recent promotional campaign of its Anyband -Talk, Play, Love promotion and set out to do their own rendition of the instant hit Promise U. BoA Graces The Red Carpet At The Cannes Film Festival

21 May 2006 - 05:42 PM

On Sunday May 21st, 2006 our beloved BoA attended the Cannes Film Festival in France. As seen above, BoA poses for a photograph with other famous celebrities also doing voice-overs for the new Animated Film, 'Over the Hedge'. In this jovial picture, we have (from right to left), Koji Yakusho & Bruce Willis (dubbing the voice of RJ the Racoon) and BoA & Avril Lavigne (dubbng the voice of Heather the Possum). Of course, the actors are doing the dubs in their respective languages, except for BoA, who is doing the dubs for both the Japanese and Korean version (wow!).

LiA, A BoAjjang member who happened to be attending the Cannes Film Festival, managed to snap some pictures of BoA arriving to the scene. (Seen below)

Pre-Cannes Interview with BoA

21 May 2006 - 05:41 PM

<div><img src="http://img502.images...iewnews7hx.jpg" alt="" align="left" style="float: left; clear: left; margin: 4px;" />Prior to her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, BoA did a short interview in which she discusses topics relating to her voice acting role in 'Over the Hedge', potential acting career, and love life.

<i>Q: How does it feel to be on the red carpet?
BoA: I never imagined I would be attending the Cannes Film Festival. I'm very nervous.

Q: Why did you choose to dub in 'Over the Hedge'? Singing and voice-acting are two different things.
BoA: When I was first offered the job, I was hesitant because I wasn't confident. Nonetheless, I thought this was a good opportunity [to showcase her acting skill] because this film was created by the creators of Shrek, which I love. One of the things that made dubbing hard was that the characters' mouth moved according to the English script, and I had to match it with the Korean script. I already watched the finished product, and I'm worried my part might appear unnatural to audiences.

Q: You also dubbed the Japanese version of Over the Hedge. How did that go?
BoA: There were many obstacles because Japanese isn't my mother tongue, and casual conversation in Japanese and dubbing in Japanese are very different. It took twice as long to dub in Japanese as it did dubbing in Korean. I almost gave up during the process.

Q: If you were to try real acting, what kind of style would you prefer?
BoA: I'm very interested in acting. I've received a lot of offers, too. I will probably try it in the future, but as of now there's no immediate plan. I liked Jessica Alba's part in 'Honey'. I also would like to try historical film such as 'The King And The Clown', and Princess Fiona in 'Shrek" sounds interesting too.

Q: Boyfriend?
BoA: It's time to have one... I'm too busy... Not interested just yet.</i>
