I'm actually fine w/this list. I like BoA and yeah her music is catchy and her stage persona is fierce when she's on, but frankly speaking, it's not incredibly innovative/groundbreaking/original in terms of lyrics or composition. I kinda go eh at Taeyang being on the list but for the most part I agree w/it.

There's no need to bash/invalidate a site just because you don't agree with it. And it does in fact include some of Kpop's greats; there's Seo Taiji who basically created the foundations for Kpop, Epik High has amazing lyrics, Clazziquai creates very original and unique music, etc. These are the people who have been and still are at the forefront of Kpop artistically and musically speaking. Besides, I think it's good to take a step back sometimes and realize there's a TON more to Kpop than the idols :P

Now if say DBSK/SNSD/Suju was on this list and BoA wasn't... then I'd be judging it lols.

FF7AC not FFX2 lol.

But I do agree that the amount of fanwars and dramas that are going on nowadays in the K-pop world is a complete turn off. And then there's that other problem where this one agency isn't even paying their talents and everyone is suing them to terminate their contracts AND for their money, i.e. Yoo Jae Seuk and Ivy are the biggest ones I can remember in there (Chocolate E&F or whatever it's called).

The fandom wars... oh god. Like seriously. Chill. Korea is the most connected country in the world- and this has resulted in not so pleasant results; primarily, fandom wars and controversies can spread faster than ever and are becoming so much more widespread to the point they're starting to attract international fans who get sucked into the obsessive Kpop fangirl/boy mindset. It's quite terrifying. I'm not blaming the internet- that's merely the tool. But human nature really does scare/sadden me at times.

I don't want to go around pointing fingers at any of the parties involved in this- as there's a lot we, the general public do not know and may never know. What I can ascertain is that there is clearly something EXTREMELY personal here; enough that BoA feels the need to voice her opinion and blur the boundaries between her personal and professional life, something that's very rare for our girl, something that is, imo, further cemented by her close relationship to ALL the DBSK boys (Jae was her BFF, she was rumored to be dating Mickey at one point, Minnie has said she's her fav. noona, her and Yunho seem pretty close, and Junsu and her go back to trainee days). Considering her relationship w/HoMin and whatever it is that is preventing HoMin from responding (either because of company restrictions or lack of an account on a vehicle of mass social media such as Twitter), I can understand her retort as a defense of whom she undoubtedly views as close friends and perhaps for a few own personal reasons. And clearly, it's not just BoA that was deeply affected by whatever went down between JYJ and SM- so was Sungmin, Shindong, Jaewon, Jay, etc. I don't want to say either side is wrong- especially since obviously there's a crapload us fans don't know. BUT I will say this- wtf was Junsu thinking in sending that tweet in the first place DURING HOMIN'S COMEBACK?! I'm sorry but that's what honestly irritates me and sends me a wrong message. It seems more like he's just milking this ~scandal~ for all its worth- I mean seriously. You've gone your seperate ways, now let bygones be bygones. You and Jae and Mickey chose to leave SM and you can finally perform in Korea again. You've chosen your path; let HoMin choose their's too. Argh, the timing just leaves a rotten taste in my mouth :smartass:

I will say this though; while I side w/BoA's RIGHT to re-tweet Jaewon's message (she does have a stake in this despite arguments contrary; and I'd assume she'd know a hell more than us considering she's actually under SM and was fairly close to all of DBSK before the breakup), I don't think it was the wiset or classiest move to do it over Twitter, over such a public forum. She could have just as easily just e-mailed him or something. Not the classiest move- but I do support her right to do such. And can understand why she'd do so- no doubt, this is something that hits home and is highly personal to her and well, humans do not-so-wise things in fits of emotions. We do things that aren't the classiest or we might regret later. And considering that, I do stand by BoA no matter what.
