Speaking of great albums, what do you guys think are the holy trinity of BoA albums?
My top 3 are
1. Girls on Top - Great title track (I remember so many girls copying her hairstyle after the album came out), so many standout album tracks like Garden in the Air, Addiction, Breathe Again
2. VALENTI - This album is her Japanese legacy, VALENTI is probably one of her most well-known Japanese songs. Great moody album overall, Feel the Same and Moon & Sunrise still slay me today
3. Only One - Her best title track, great album despite only containing 6 new songs (One Dream is poop)
Wtf are you me, this is my exact list! Girls on Top was so powerful and that whole album was gold. Valenti is classic and it's no wonder why it's her best selling album. The third one is Only One just marginally beating out KML! Although I don't think she's ever released a dud Korean album, her Korean works are all really solid imo.
People say she needs to release more material but I'd much rather she release quality songs like she did in the last album than rush to release one every year.
Also I'm really tired of people referencing BoA to Namie Amuro. Namie Amuro is such a clear exception to otherwise a decline in solo acts across the board. If you exclude Namie, this kind of decline is not abnormal. Even the great Hamasaki Ayumi is selling only a fraction of what she was a few years ago. And people can argue that Hikki is still popular but her last compilation didn't sell that well relatively either.
Finally watched all the performances, I think Fox Choreo was pretty good! Wish she sang it live though /: Green Light choreo could've been better but she sounded great on Music Core. I'm guessing it's because she wrote all the songs so she wrote them to fit her range, which makes live performances right in her comfort range.
Also observation: it's the first time she's had female backup dancers in Korea in a long time!
