I have a Twitter account but I never use it lol
Maybe you guys can get me into it xD
None of my friends are using it so it gets boring :P

And I can totally understand your point about 6theory.
I'm not saying this because I'm on the BoAjjang boat but from my experience, it's really hard to avoid the trolls once the place gets big.
Over the years, I have seen this happening to most of the biggest websites/forums out there.
We lost a bunch of users here on BoAjjang over the years but we are working hard on keeping this place warm and cozy.
That's kind of the trademark here lol

I'm back on track from a loooong break and I expect this place to still be my home on the internet :3

In Topic: BoA to star leading role in new dance movie "COBU 3D"

02 February 2011 - 04:56 AM

@Mashimaro and saoji: it's time to calm down.

This whole post of yours is ridiculous.
You stop bad mouthing the whole movie.
Your logic doesn't make any sense...

Because the member has a different opinion than yours on the movie doesn't make her/him stupid.
"I think" was used. Saying that she/he thinks that the movie will flop is not bad mouthing.
Maybe starting to show a bit of respect will be a good idea.
It's not the first time that you're being like this on BoAjjang.

A movie based on BoA's life would totally suck  Nobody cares.
And like Mashimaro said, it's an act, nobody cares her nationality.
And hurrah it'll talk about japanese culture/dance/taiko... I love it, and in fact I never heard about anything except k-pop for Korea...

"Nobody cares" everywhere... It's not because you don't care that everyone doesn't care.
Did you think about people who wants Korea to be more well known?
Personally, I'm ok with BoA playing a japanese character since it's a great opportunity for her to be in a movie.
However, I can understand why some are disappointed and wanted her to play a korean role.
Like you're happy about the movie talking about japanese dance culture, others would have liked the fact that the movie talked about kpop.

By the way, keep in mind that there are people out there who have heard about more stuff than you about Korea.
You're not representative of the world population you know.

I feel the same way about Japanese and Korean culture.

It just so happened Japanese culture tends to be more well known around the world, and Duane Adler just happened to pick up on the COBU (Japanese taiko drum and tap dancing group) rather than a Korean one.

The Japanese culture has established a firm prescence in the global community - Anime, Ninja, Samurai, Geisha, Ikebana, Oragami, Sony, Nintendo, Hello Kitty, Kimono, Sushi, etc. Most people in the world know about these. Even late 19th century France went crazy for Japanese woodblock prints and inspired the art style "Japonisme."

While Korean culture is just starting to be well known but I don't think it'll ever reach the same amount of influence that Japanese culture has. The Hanbok is always overshadowed by the Kimono, the Kembap is overshadowed by the Sushi, Manghwa is overshadowed by Manga, etc.

It's not that Korean culture is inferior, it's just never had the same amount of influence and prescence in other countries yet, while China and Japan has had major influence in America and Europe for quite some time...

For this quote, I'm not talking as a BoAjjang staff. It's between you and me.
I lost the count of the posts in which you compare Japan and Korea.
Do you feel unsafe about the hallyu wave getting bigger or what?
You're always trying to convince people that Japan is better than Korea everytime you get the opportunity.
You have exactly the same behavior as those Apple/Android fanboys.
Yes, japanese culture is more well known globally thus the kimono is more famous than the hanbok.
But kimbap (and it's kimbap not kembap) overshadowed by sushi? really?
You're comparing something meant to be cheap and made with vegetables and meat (kimbap) with something meant to be delicate and made with fish (sushi).
The only common point is rice... Maybe you meant maki and in that case, I'm surprised that someone with an all mighty knowledge about Japan like you made the mistake.
Manghwa/Manga: from what I see, the manga/mangaka community is really huge in Japan and not as big in Korea. Your argument is valid (manhwa is overshadowed) but the comparison, imo, can't be made.

And seriously, stop trying to show to the world that the japanese culture is better than the korean culture.
I'm pretty sure that people who know both culture well just laugh at your biases since the two cultures are much more different than what you make it looks like.
Both countries are now more opened to the other country's culture than they were in the past. Maybe you should do the same and be a little more open minded.

This will be the first and last time that I say those things to you on the forums.
From now on, I'll pm you if I have something to say.
