#2276598 Lana Del Rey vs. Lorde

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 29 September 2014 - 06:19 PM

Okay, so yeah lol I was on youtube last week and endend up seeing a fight about Lorde and Lana Del Rey and who's truly original. I just wanted to know what you guys think about both singers. Do you think any of them copy each other? Do you like them both? Hate? Like the message they give? Don't think the fans should fight about their originality and etc. I personally I'm not a fan of either of them, but I do enjoy some of their songs.

Of course I'm not encouraging anyone to come here and actually fight about that. All I want is to hear your opinion about it :D please let's just talk.

#2274680 BoA unfollowed SMENT

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 21 May 2014 - 01:12 PM

LOOL yeah I almost feel for this info, but to be honest I don't think BoA would do that. She's loyal to SM, even though she might disagree with them (which I don't know she does, but I think she probably disagrees sometimes). After all there's even a Japanese documentary that shows BoA performing with an bone injure in her foot. She knows how SM treats their idols. Plus, BoA was a SM artist when Hangeng left, so she might be shocked but is not like she never saw something like this before.

But I am really sorry for EXO, it happened all of a sudden :T but I understand Kris. He wants the dream but maybe he doesn't want that type of sacrifice. SM is harsh so I don't think we could blame him for his decision, after all he's not the fandom property. He's a person before he's an idol so he has his own will... It makes me sad, but not much to do now. I just hope no other EXO member choose this too.

#2274455 This Is So Cute!

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 26 April 2014 - 07:36 AM

Awwn, how cute. But BoA was like "hum... Thanks?". Really cool. But was he actually allowed there? Cause she didn't seem like she was expecting that LOL

#2274441 BoA's Multilingual

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 25 April 2014 - 03:35 PM

For me it would be nice for her to learn portuguese LOOL but I'm realist. I know she won't. But I'm happy with her English because it's good enough for me to talk to her (something that's kind of hard to happen but you know, let a girl dream). But yeah her Japanese is good, her English is okay and I have no idea about her Chinese.

#2263768 [NEWS] BoA tweets to Italian fans

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 24 November 2013 - 10:12 AM

I guess some fans don't really understand that being a famous singer does not make you peoples' property. She's allowed to say no... And do what she wants. It's not like she's killing puppies or doing something that would influence people in a bad way anyway...

#2261160 Kpop Star Season 3?

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 10 October 2013 - 07:04 PM

That's too bad, I wonder if they'll record a new theme for the show.

They might stick with the old... But hey that's just me wanting things to go my way LOL

#2257672 What's the right translation of "네모난 바

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 25 July 2013 - 09:27 AM

I think is something like Square Wheel. But it makes more sense in the context of the song LOL

#2257636 I think IU's singing is monotonous

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 23 July 2013 - 01:24 PM

First of all, no offence to any of her fans or her. I just think she kind of goes nowhere with her voice and it's like when I hear a song from her I feel like I heard most of her songs. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing her or saying she doesn't have talent. She does have, I think so, I was a fan. But after a while, I felt like she wasn't giving me a lot of dynamics or showing different sides of her and her voice.
Anyways, I'm not just telling what I think. I wanna know how many of you really like her or could show me songs where she showed dynamic and a different side of her voice. If you have, please show me ^^
And what are the singers you feel the same way I feel with IU?

Remember I'm not here to bash and I'm not inviting anyone to do so. I only wanna know what people have to say about this subject. Singers that make you bored because they sing the same way most of the time.

#2256371 BoA? Hyori? Who is the real "Queen"?

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 30 June 2013 - 02:18 PM

Let's get real. The 'queen' is whoever happens to be promoting or is having a come back at the moment. It's why you see it everywhere. The word queen gets thrown around a lot in the kpop world that it kinda lost its meaning.

I totally agree with you when you say that the word "queen" lost its meaning. But don't you think that when we say "the queen of soul" referring to Aretha Franklin she's indeed the queen? I mean, BoA sold more than Hyori and everything and has a wider public. Wouldn't this facts make her the queen? Or like Aretha is a representative of soul music so if you talk about soul you would have to talk about her. I think that BoA is the same with K-Pop. When you talk about K-Pop, as a music genre that has its big artist that made it what it is, BoA comes to mind real quickly. I guess having that much influence would make her the Queen. New k-poppers (just like most people in the world nowdays) don't really care about music history. But BoA made history in K-Pop. Not saying Hyori didn't, of course. She also has her influence.
Please don't take this the wrong way ^^ I'm not trying to make you sound wrong or anything. I'm just sharing my thoughts with you

#2256369 [130629] BoA 10th anniversary event in Tokyo

BoA with a high bun, so cute *-*
Anyways, yeah she's sweating a lot. But a little bit of sweat ain't never hurt nobody, right? I don't even know if I said it right lol
Thank you for sharing ~

#2256331 BoA? Hyori? Who is the real "Queen"?

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 29 June 2013 - 07:32 PM

I think BoA would be the Queen. Not bashing Hyori, of course. Everyone has their own opinion and this is mine. I might not be the best person to say this, since I'm a Jumping BoA, but even if I weren't, just like ~Milestone~, I would choose BoA. As an artist and as the Queen of K-Pop.
I won't even talk about talent or anything like it. Here's why:
  • Since I was young (I'm 17y ears old) I heard about BoA a lot, and I mean a lot.
  • My mother bought me a MP4 that had No. 1's and My Sweetie's MVs (I was 12 years old). At that time even though I heard about BoA didn't know who she was.
  • Here in Brazil she's way more popular, and around early 2000's she was one of the Asian singers. Most fans of Asian culture of that period would tell you this. (The list would also contain Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi...)
  • Now days she's is the 4th more popular Korean singer in Brazil (the list was made in 2010 and she was the 4th out of 5 other Korean artist like DBSK, SJ, SHINee and Big Bang).
  • I think she's more "k-pop", if that makes sense to anyone. I mean, she represents it better (in my point of view of what is "k-pop" like).
I guess this is it. BoA, at least from the point of view of a Brazilian girl that has been around Asia fans through her entire life, would be the Queen. But I'm not the only Brazilian person in the world. Other people from here might disagree with me. After all we can't all think the same way, right? ^^

#2256146 [Italian fans] Fan account translation

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 19 June 2013 - 06:31 AM

As fans we tend to have a parasocial relationship with celebrities. A parasocial relationship is a term used by social scientists to describe a one-sided parasocial interpersonal relationship in which one party knows a great deal about the other, but the other does not. We can't really deny that. But my point isn't only the parasocial relationship we develop with celebrities, but how far we can take it.

Let pretend you have a long time friend that you really like and feel close to him/her. Then you have the chance to see that person and you get excited. When you finally meet you are disappointed because him/her didn't act like you were expecting him/her to. Then you go back home and complain saying things like "how could she/he do this to me?" "I've known him/her for years" "I wanted to get a picture, wanted him/her to say hello and be nice". I think everyone got the picture already. To make it ever clearer here are some quotes from the Italian fan, who was complaining about BoA's behavior:
  • Long time friend: "I'm a fan of SM's artits and I followed BoA's carrer way before I got into Kpop"
  • Your chance to see the person: "Andrea and I (@RyukiriYukiko) went to Duomo looking for BoA in the afternoon"
  • The disappointing meeting: "She turned for a moment but she immediately walked away like nothing happened and she ignored me even when I told her I was a fan" (there are more things that the fan stated that were disappointing and upsetting, you can read the the fan account translation if you wanna know more).
Rumors come and go. There's always the possibility of the exaggeration of facts. Upsetting can make people overreact and most of the time that's what happens. We can't trust any statement we read on the internet.

So my point is let's not believe in this like is the absolute truth, cause by now we can't really tell that. She's a celebrity and rumors will always be there. We can we do about it? What can we do to prove it? Nothing, we weren't there so we cannot tell if this is fake or real.

#2253891 [JP Mag] GLAMOROUS july issue

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 09 June 2013 - 11:21 AM

I'm really happy to see BoA on magazines! That mean she's getting some attention *-* of course I'm not all about that, but that's good publicity right there!
She looks gorgeous as always. The pictures are really simple but beautiful. There's nothing fake about them, which I obviously like. Recently magazines can make people look very unrealistic. Not saying I hate those things, I just like to see people as human beings. Yhis post is getting too long LOL Thank you for sharing!

#2253770 BoA summer 2013 Jap new song/single

Posted by mrsmushroomlee on 04 June 2013 - 06:49 PM

Wow... Guys calm down. I know we all love BoA and want her to release good things but I guess we're taking things a little too far. Not everyone will like BoA nowdays just like not everyone likes her old songs. Some people may even make unrealistic bad or good comments about her work but let's face the reality: no one can please everybody. In my opinion (which consists in vocal techniques, my personal preference towards music and BoA's attitude towards her own work) her new releases are great. She's showing us a different BoA that seems very mature and honest. But the rest of the world doesn't see her through my eyes, that being said not everyone will agree with me. And I don't feel like everyone should. Some comments are truth (rather they are good or bad, it doesn't matter) some are just personal preference. I won't talk about her songs as safe or not safe choices, cause that is not even my point. We need to respect each other. I doubt that BoA would like to force people into liking her stuff. This is what she wanted to do. Let's just respect her work and each others opinions ^^
