No no...the tattoo did not appear at the beginning of the video but then it appeared again at the ending of the video. So i'm pretty sure they have some intention behind it.

well since the shadow is about her fans and being true to herself as a singer
the beginning shows no tattoo and then she wraps herself with the blind fold (usually the beginning, they all start out as manufacture kpop idols where they just follow whatever concept their company gives them without much of a say sometimes and that's not really showing your true self)
then at the end there's the tattoo because it shows that the fans and the passion she grew over the years made her find an identity as BoA (since tattoos are usually a form of expression - reflects the owner's feelings and interests etc) i guess it means a lot after finally composing her first song and stuff
