Whoa, I can definitely contribute to this thread! 2000-2001 was also when I started getting into KPOP.

J - Like Yesterday *still great after 10 years!
CLEO - Always In My Heart *for the younger people, the first singer is EnJel.
Baby VOX - Betrayal

I should also list Finkl's "Now" but that's gotten a lot of attention since WG made their own version.

And I totally concur with SES "I'm Your Girl" and "Love."

I like the original KARA better than now. Sung Hee was my favorite so I don't mind admitting I'm biased. Her voice was so strong and every time she sang, you could hear her up and above everyone else. I was really sad to see her go and even though I've tried to keep following them, it just wasn't as interesting. When "Honey" hit the big time, I went back to watch it but I hated it. It's so damn cute and bubbly, it makes me wanna barf. And I feel very pedo watching it.

I really want to like After School but I just don't! I don't know what it is! The only one I really notice is Ga Hee but apart from her impeccable stage presence, her singing isn't very impressive at all. I liked "Ah" okay but I really liked "Play Girlz." I wish they had performed it in full instead of just a little snippet. I get the whole PCD thing but they really don't need that--first of all, they just looked older than WG, SNSD, etc so they already have that in their favor. They don't have to sex it up necessarily just because they're older and are women, not girls.

I saw 2NE1 for the first time just this week. I watched the street version of "Fire" first and was completely turned off. The only member that stood out to me was the one in the hoodie because she could actually really sing. I found out later that she's Park Bom from the Anystar video and I had to go back and watch it just to confirm for myself. But it's painful... I know it's stylish and cool to be very urban but this video is just too much! I got flamed a little bit on YouTube for saying this but I'll say it again with hopes of begging to differ... I think they're trying way too hard and came off negatively in trying to be so 'hood and hardcore. I just wanted to laugh mostly.

However, the space version is muuuuuuuch better. They look very cool as wacky cosmic superheroes, especially the one on the bike. I like it a lot more than the street version--I think it shows so much more class and personality. There are too many girls and girl groups trying to play the urban card like it's a contest of who can out-ghetto-fy who. The space version gives me hope for them... I hope they shed the excessive packaging fast and prove themselves as a real singing group.

I think probably most of the people on this forum are probably too young to remember this. But I know I do! Best album hands down is "II" from which "I'll Make Love To You," "On Bended Knee," and "Water Runs Dry" come from. These guys are just amazing--they are the bar to which all other groups should be compared. Great recommendation!
