Singer Seven says he is planning on debuting in the United States in August.

The Sankei Sports has reported recently that Korean R&B singer Seven disclosed his U.S. debut plans on a show of the Tokyo Internet video broadcaster Ameba Studio.

The daily also said that Seven appeared on the show to promote his sixth single album that went on sale in Japan July 4, and that some 630 fans attended the show.

Seven said he will leave for the U.S. in August and that he is strongly determined to rise to the challenge despite numerous difficulties that Asian artists face in America.

On June 30, the singer successfully finished his tour in Japan that covered Nagoya, Osaka and Chiba Prefecture.

well this isn't new but just confirms his debut in the United States is really soon. With a big fanbase he has and several performances already held in america, one can expect something big. But only time will tell and hope the best for him in a market non existent for korean gasoos or foreigners from asia for that matter.

"Skull" (real name Jo Seong-jin), 28, a member of the Reggae & Hiphop duo Stony Skunk, is doing well in the US since his solo debut in that country.

His US debut single "Boomdi Boomdi" ranked 16th on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hiphop Singles Sales chart on Saturday and climbed to 10th on the same chart dated August 4.

An official at his management YG Entertainment says "The top ten ranking is surprising even to us. The past two years' effort to penetrate the US underground music world is beginning to show. But it's only the beginning."

Skull's manager in the US is the brother of pop star Mariah Carey, Morgan Carey.

YG says "Mariah Carey has conveyed her wish to work with Skull in her new album and her brother has also mentioned seeking a joint project during a media interview." It added that "Top US producers including Grammy winning Ross Hogarth are showing a keen interest in Skull's music, and related meetings will take place soon."

[news] BoA Ranks Second in Global Album Sales

Singer BoA’s new album “Outgrow” released by Japan’s Avex has achieved the second highest sales record in the world.

The German music website Mediatraffic said Monday that “Outgrow” ranked second in album sales last week, the ninth week of 2006, on its United World Chart, with 220,000 copies sold. Mediatraffic determines the rankings every week by compiling album sales and charts across the world.

The most-sold album was “Back to Bedlam” by British singer James Blunt, which sold 268,000 copies. The album's song “You Are Beautiful” is currently number one on the Billboard chart.

BoA’s album slid to the 16th place in sales this week, but is still ahead of those by Robbie Williams, Andrea Bocelli, and Enya.

BoA previously topped the German website’s chart twice -- for the seventh week of 2005 with her best-of album “Best of Soul” and for the fifth week of 2004 with her third album “Love and Honesty.”

BoA’s agency SM Entertainment said, “Since BoA limits her performance to the Asian region, she is not that famous in the Western music world. But considering the Japanese music market is the second largest in the world, we can say that BoA sells the most records in the world.”
