Topics I've Started

Vietnamese Youth Convention (VYC) 2006

30 June 2006 - 01:23 AM

VYC 2006 brings together Vietnamese Youth from all over the US and all over the world to learn about their faith and celebrate it. It is characterized by the happiness of youth being with Christ and with each other. At VYC 2006, participants will learn how Vietnamese American Catholics live their faith and also experience life here. In addition, Vietnamese participants from all over the world will teach us about how they live their faith and about life in their countries.

I've never attended this, but am going this weekend. I was wondering if any of you signed up to go? I'm just going with my sister. I'm sure it'll be a nice experience. It'd be fun to actually meet boajjangers if any attend!

Just wanted to know if any of you were going.

Imaginary friends & enemies.

25 June 2006 - 09:36 AM

I'm sure many of you grew up having one or two imaginary friends (maybe you even have them now?).

I grew up with an imaginary cat-friend named "patches". She had patches of different cat furs that were "quilted" on her body. She'd come out whenever i'd be riding in the car, and she'd jump over all the slopes in the sidewalk (driveways, street corners, etc.) She was cool. o_o

As for enemies, I was scared of imaginary feet that would kick me down the stairs. I still remember them from a dream i had when i was 3. ;_;

i'm writing a letter to my japanese intern teacher. i'm sure the first two paragraphs are okay, but the other paragraphs i tried to write free-hand without much knowledge of verbs & whatnot. not sure if my sentence structure is complete either.

i put this in the spam section because it's not really significant to be a lounge topic (i think). just want to see if anyone can help. it's not a big deal if anyone doesn't, but it'd be nice -_-. i also don't want to be too bothersome with my homework. :X

thanks!

How do you usually stop hiccups?

17 May 2006 - 04:54 PM

I'm sure everyone has heard of weird ways of how
hiccups can be cured. How do you cure yours?
Drinking water? Jumping? Getting punched in the gut?

Many times, I get excited when I get hiccups, so I
go & call my boyfrienger so he can finally hear my
hiccups before i explode. Though, right when i finish
dialing my hiccups go away . . :'[

I also hold my breath & swallow. : D

BOO TO YOU MATH!

soooo, i'm having trouble finding the annual growth factor for this problem. i think the problem is because i'm use to finding the exponential growth / rate when i'm given a initial value. either that, or i just don't grasp the concept very well :' [

here's the problem:
If a population is growing at a rate of 12% annually, what is the annual growth factor? briefly defend your answer.

i'm sure that it's a simple problem that i'm overthinking, but i don't really know where i'm suppose to start. if i could get some hints or more explanation on how to design the problem, i'd really appreciate it. thank you!
