The only thing wrong with our healthcare system is the cost because legal fees are too high. Just lower the amount someone could get and prices would nosedive. The U.S. has the best healthcare in the world; there's a reason why people from Europe and Canada who get tired of waiting in line come to the U.S.
We have the best healthcare, ONLY if you have the cash to pay for it. That's why reform is needed. Also, the health systems in Europe and Canada are NOT public options, but single-payer. They're two very different things.

No, I didn't make this up. It's called not watching an extreme-leftwing channel.
Apparently you've been watching the extreme-right Fixed News channel, or you'd know your facts. Maybe you didn't make that stuff up, but they did, and you're just repeating it.
I think, therefore I never watch Fox News.

I totally agree with you. Your answer is spot on. =] Prices are so high because people keep suing. In a nearby town to me, their hospital will not deliver babies anymore because they got sued too much. So they just stopped. Those people now have to drive over 30 minutes to get into my town to have their baby.
Most malpractice suits are either tossed out of court, or the ruling goes in favor of the physician. And be honest, if a lot of people were suing in that nearby town, it's clear that those doctors were pretty incompetent.
The REAL reason health care costs are so high is that insurance company CEO's are making way too much profit, taking advantage of the monopoly they have. Even casinos are held to stricter standards than insurance companies are.
My family has worked in the health care industry for 30 years, so I know what I'm talking about here. I'm also a victim of being priced out of health insurance because of pre-existing conditions. If you've never been chronically ill, or hospitalized for a prolonged period of time, you don't know what the situation truly is. Sorry.
There needs to be a public option now, to provide healthy, all-American competition for the insurance companies. Americans know this, and that's why all polls (except those done by Fox News, surprise-surprise) indicate the vast majority wants a public option.
