D=! Finished by April! Perhaps a May or June release? just in time for summer =3
In summer is great, but definitely not in late July - early mid August, because by that time 'Step up: Revolution' is out, and having that blockbuster compete with COBU is the last thing we want to happen!
So I hope for May/June too :D

If there is hype over an already established dance film, then that will feed on to COBU 3D so no real damage or loss by having it released round about the same time

Yup, that will feed on to COBU, that's why I hope COBU will be released around that time, either before or after Step Up, but not THE SAME TIME with Step Up, because it will affect COBU's sales for sure, imho. If there are 2 dance movies showing at the same time, I'm pretty sure 80% people will go to Step Up over COBU.

2013 in the Netherlands for some reason.

This is floating around on twitter tonight:

@BoATHFC tweeted it out first and said they got it off a FB acct. Many fans ask if it's real or fan made. Anyone have any info?

Me too. If this is real, it's rather disappointing teaser poster along with the meh tagline.

"One small step can change your life forever" is one of the cheesiest catch phrase ever. I hope this isn't the actual poster. I want the poster to represent some dance factor in it since this IS a dance film. And it's too dark.

The main photo used in that poster is a fantaken/behind the scenes picture from the day BoA and Derek kissed. It's fake.

I didn't think it was real either, esp since the photo used is bad since you can't see either Derek or BoA's face, there was no official release date on the poster, the image taken was def from the paparazzi pictures of 'the kiss', and the writing on the wall next to the poster was in English and we all know there is no official release date in North America yet. Can you tell I studied the photo a lot? haha!

But this even caught Derek's attention bc he retweeted a tweet sent to him of the photo and asked "Where is this from?". I would think that he and BoA would get a preview of the official poster of their movie before promotions begin, right? Ok... I vote FAKE! ;-)

Lol yeah, if it's from a paparazzi shot, then it's obviously fake.

I was talking with a fellow Derek fan tonight abt this fake Cobu poster and she asked me how I would design the poster. After thinking abt it for a minute, my main goal would be to show as much of the story as I could. So I was thinking that one one side in the background could be a great image of the Cobu girls performing and the other side would be Donny's Hoofers on stage performing. In the middle of the poster would be Aya (on the side of the Cobu Girls) and Donny (on the side of the Hoofers). Their bodies would be facing the viewer of the poster so we can get a good look at them (and their faces), but they would be looking at each other in a way that you could tell they are the romantic couple of the movie. Maybe have Kaz trying to pull Aya away from Donny and Nick trying to pull Donny away from Aya.

The tagline would be something like 'Two People From Different Worlds Risk It All To Be Together" or something like that. Or even Cobu's "Drum Like Dancing, Dance Like Drumming" would be preferable to the one in the fake poster.. haha!

So how would YOU like to see Cobu's poster look like?

There was a fan review of the movie
http://palindromic1..../review-cobu-3d

Quote

review: cobu (3D).

no spoilers! this movie hasn’t even been advertised yet, so i don’t want to let any plot/dance slip before anyone sees trailers. it also has not been rated yet, so i’m not sure if anything will change by the time they release it to the general public.
all i knew about the movie was that it was a dance flick that starred BoA and derek hough, me being more interested in the former. i had a feeling that the movie was either going to be really good or really bad.
turns out that the plot, while cheesy and kind of predictable, was not as melodramatic and dumb as certain other dance movies (i love all the step up movies… except the second and third totally lost me when they tried to sell the plot. just stick with the dancing, please), and the acting wasn’t terrible. actually, BoA could have been a bit better acting-wise, but i’m not so sure that was her fault, as her character (and most female leads in this type of movie) was pretty flat. derek hough was a better actor, but i preferred her dancing (he was amazing, but he pretty much did one style throughout the entire film, while she did multiple).
and here is the major kicker - the dancing! it was really impressive. step up 3 had some nicely choreographed numbers, but it was mostly the cinematography that made it likable. i think that’s one of the chief differences; when jon chu made the 2nd and 3rd step up movies he tried to make it visually charged (or so i think), whereas this film (i don’t think he had any part in it… but i know it will be compared to all the step up films) focused more on the dancing and less on the dialogue. smart move… the dialogue was always something corny and cliched that had me shaking my head and laughing a bit, even when it was a tense moment.
i loved the cameos from certain dancers… if you keep up with popular dancers from north america and asia, you’ll definitely recognize a few faces here.
i can honestly say that the type of dance portrayed in this movie has never been seen in a mainstream film before. i was really impressed, and wondered how much time and work went into creating those numbers (and whose idea it was!).
i think this was entirely shot in 3D, so that’s the only way to watch it when it comes out.
i absolutely loved it every time BoA was dancing - she just made it look so easy. unlike step up 3, where sharni vinson had a dance double for certain stunts/numbers, BoA did everything herself here, and did it well. don’t believe me, watch her “eat you up” and “energetic” music videos to get an idea of how hard she can hit choreography.
i would pay to watch this movie again, whenever it is that it comes out.

Thanks for the review, but I could pretty much guess that her acting wasn't going to be great and that her dancing was going to be amazing.

Can't wait!
