These cat owners noticed their cat acting strangely, trying to hide under a blanket, shortly before the earthquake hit.  Toward the end of the quake, you can hear the kitty crying.

QUESTION: I heard some place names mentioned, like Hokkaido and Miyagi, but can anybody post what else was being said on the TV afterward?  Was that odd noise on TV their emergency alarm?  Finally, what was on the title cards that preceded the video?



Personally, I would've grabbed the cat and run outside, instead of holding onto the TV set, though.  What if the house would've collapsed?

Wow, I guess the cat could pretty much sense it since they have sharper instincts in some aspects.  Seriously, I would've ran out too or hide somewhere safe, rather than stand in the living room. Anyway, poor cat and I'm pretty sure that family was freaked out as well. *shudders*

An island called Toshiro Island, very close to the epicenter of the earthquake and tsunami, survived.

Toshiro Island is known as Cat Island, there thousands of cats in the island but only a few hundred humans.

Maybe the cats sensed the earthquake and tsunami and saved the massive elderly population of the island?

It was reported later on that the island survived both the earthquake and tsunami, no death tolls!

And this island was closer than Sendai !

There are some animals which do have ability to predict if there is a calamity to come. Cats is one of them. You could see it on their unusual behavior before the tragedy.
