Somewhere in the article it mentions how she's doing a variety of activities like Kpopstar, her movie is planning to release soon, and . . . it says she's planning to release an album . . . Though I'm not sure where country wise. . .

I'm using google translate . . . but I need another confirmation since it's a majorly flawed translator.  Gotta say though this is one of the few times it actually made sense when translating, the article must of been written well

Confirmation needed for back up

I think it's Korea, especially regarding the statement from SM? about her frequency in her home country . . . I dunno.  This is where  I really wish I could understand the language

basically it mentions about her new movie and an album
the movie will open in korea sometime this year
and she plans to release a new album around the same time
she is not recording it yet.. just planning

Cobu is rumored for Fall 2012 worldwide release. So somewhere around there. Hmm.. sounds likes she's done with japan then. And wonder since that album is released same time as the movie will it be an english album? or still korean album but just released same time as the movie.

BoA, Anticipation of a Second Heyday in 2012! Variety+Movie+Album "Triple Crown Challenge"

[enews24 Reporter Kim Jiyeon] Singer BoA is anticipating a second heyday in 2012 through activities that are more complete than ever before.

BoA is currently appearing as a judge on SBS's popular variety program K-Pop Star. BoA, who is appearing on K-Pop Star representing her label SM Entertainment, is presenting a charisma which in no way pales in comparison to YG's Yang Hyunsuk and JYP's Park Jinyoung and is receiving the support of viewers.

Recently K-Pop Star's PD Park Seonghun met with enews and gave praise that "BoA is carrying out her role in between Yang Hyunsuk-shi and Park Jinyoung-shi so well to the point that I wonder what we would have done without her." She draws out the emotions of the contestants with trademark feminine softness but when she is scary she overwhelms those present with critical remarks.

Many fans have been taking notice of the activities of BoA, whose promotions as a singer have been infrequent for a long stretch, with the phrase "the rediscovery of BoA." This is because the musical advice she gives to the contestants, which is full of affection and depth, presents heartfelt emotion.

BoA, who is once again receiving the love of the general public through K-Pop Star in particular, is preparing for promotions this year through a movie and an album, and so genuine multifaceted activities are being anticipated. The Hollywood movie COBU 3D, for which BoA was selected as the main character, is scheduled for a national release this year and even the release of a new album is planned.

During a phone call with enews on the 2nd a representative of BoA's label SM stated "It appears that BoA will have frequent opportunities to meet with fans this year" and "It is planned that an album will be released along with her movie as well."

In addition he said "Currently we are in the midst of planning what recordings to carry out in relation to the album" and "This will become a year in which she will carry out activities that are more complete than ever" and asked for much love.

There's no specific mention of whether it's a Korean or Japanese album, but given the phrasing and the fact that SM gave a statement to Korean media it seems that it's a Korean comeback. Crossing my fingers and my toes for a full 7th album this year! Although we'll have to wait a while if they're planning to release it around the time COBU 3D is being released, since I've been reading that's going to be around October in Korea.

---------------------------------------------

If it's released near COBU promotion, the album will probably out in Sept/ Oct

She still has time from April to promote sth in Japan.

I'm liking what I'm hearing so far :D ! ""This will become a year in which she will carry out activities that are more complete than ever" and asked for much love." <<< This is so true !
And I'd love it if she releases an album in Korea, and it makes sense too since (obviously) after Kpop Star.

Maybe BoA will break the "Korean superstar factory" mould and release something compeltely different, a game changer. Imagine IDENTITY-type release with the rough edges refined and polished, it would be just fantastic. I actually liked the direction BoA headed on that album but the result was too rushed.

Perhaps I'm wishing too much for BoA, whatever it is I want the best for her.

But I really want BoA to stand out instead of be drowned in the trend, Hurricane Venus sounded like every other K-pop-dance album in 2010. If anyone's wondering my favourite Korean album from BoA is No.1. Every song in that album is amazing, and in terms of 2002 releases, her tracks were pop masterpieces. I mean there's a reason why it was ranked TOP 100 ALBUMS OF THE DECADE In Korea, it ranked at like #5 didn't it?

^ I actually agree that I would like a Korean album with an IDENTITY sort of edge to it -- "BoA produced" feel. Yeah, IDENTITY was severely rushed and would've probably been a heck of a lot better if she chose to promote different songs...or possibly 4+ songs instead of just 2, album release, and then 'Possibility' as an MV. (The actual hardcopy single might've actually sold considering it was well received by the public.)

Totally expected that SM would take advantage of her garnering a lot of attention/love from watchers of KPOP Star. She's actually becoming somewhat more relevant instead of just "Oh she's a veteran" sort of vibe she got back in 2010, now people are seeing a face to her that isn't just her stunning stage presence/performances and they're eating it up. She, herself, has stated that she's never really been the type to go out of her way for Variety shows and the like, but KPOP Star is clearly peaking the interests of many to look into her and her music career.

Can't wait until more news is released and I'm glad to know she has a lot more up her sleeve for the rest of the year, I was impatient to hear some news like this.

I'm agreeing with those above who don't want BoA to be drowned in the trend. Only the unique and different survive in the music industry today. Of course, it's very difficult to do something different and gain success easily. It has to catch the people in a way that never caught them. Like add some more of that Jazz style from Identity, maybe even a rock themed sound, something that isn't being done.

I was a FULL supporter of Identity. The only album I pre-ordered, and the only one a translated full lyrics for. If she comes out with an album like that with a stronger force then I'm all for it! But we do have to also keep in mind that Identity came out in Japan. Japan is a different market from Korea and the US. Japan may not have liked a sound like Identity, but who's to say Korea and the US won't.

It's really hard to make music that's original and still keep the public interested, especially because she has a reputation to hold as well so as not to lose fans. Many record labels and promotional companies sometimes don't ant to risk things if they feel something is going to fail, so it's hard to promote original material. But ith hard work and luck it can be done. Artists like Adele made it. It was hard for her, as she's not as glammed up as the other artists out here, and her music isn't for partying, but it's original and it stands out. But then again, Adele came out with original material BEFORE she gained a fanbase, who knows if Adele will last as long as BoA.

The anticipation is killing me! :notworthy:

according to wikipedia, outgrow , valenti and identies are the Japanese albums that peaked Korean's chart..maybe Korea will like the type of songs in Identity..

For some reason I have a feeling BoA will release a Korean album and a Japanese album this year. BoA has done it before numerous times.

BoA had already planned for a Japanese album since last year, and from what I know Korean albums don't take as long to get created and released. Its possible. Wasn't Hurricane Venus recorded like within 3 months? Girls on Top was recorded all in one month. Japanese albums usually take longer and BoA had been planning that since last summer.

I'm going to guess it will be two albums this year, but that's just me. BoA had plans already and I don't think they've changed.

I have a feeling it is gonna be a Korean album :D
I am also concerned with her 10th anniversary in Japan.... It is such a disappointment. Not saying I don't like Milestone. I love it! but BoA deserves much more than that. What is wrong with AVEX?
