Sincerely, a certain group of your fanbase who wants music from you, not reality and talent shows.

You realize that these shows and other media exposure are bringing her popularity back? Why else would SM put her out on here or Running Man...

I hope BoA truly knows how much I and other fans appreciate what she's done for K-Pop globally. I don't care that she's not as relevant now (Let's be real...), but I do have a lot of great memories with what she's released and being excited for her releases and stuff like that. So thank you so much, BoA, you wonderful woman! <3

Some stuff are better left unsaid. Why can't you just appreciate? If not, walk on by. No need to be cinical kk?
Doing reality shows, tv, and other media besides music will benefit her career. She's not your music slave, and she will do whatever she wants - whether that be releasing music or venturing into other aspects of the entertainment industry.
If you don't care for this show, please refrain from posting irrelevant comments. Take your cinical self and walk on by.

Back to topic: I feel as though through seeing all of the contestants and having be a judge this far, BoA is reminiscing the past struggles she also had to endure. This made BoA so much more relateable and down to earth, in that even though she's a star, she's still someone who we can relate to. Love her <3

I'm usually okay with your comments, but aren't you usually the one saying how SM/Avex need to promote her more and get her back on top? Well that's what SM is doing.. all of these shows and photoshoots are all exposure to get her name out, so when she does release something, it'll sell decently. I honestly expected better from you than this comment.

Seriously, though, I know there are people who like reality shows, but there are those of us who don't. I personally don't like seeing BoA reduced to being the Asian version of Paula Abdul (whose recording career was, and still is, dead on arrival). Hurricane Venus was successful enough that BoA doesn't have to resort to reality TV in Korea. If they are going to make her do this, Japan would be the better venue for her, since she really needs to rebuild a fan base there.

I think the tactic in BoA's case is more of Jennifer Lopez, not Paula Abdul. Jennifer had a huge career in the first half of the decade, but it went down like BoA's. When Jennifer went to Idol, her popularity shot back up along with her musical career because she released a huge single. Now, we can't give the show all the credit because her music was catchy regardless, but it certainly made her more relevant. I hope it does the same for BoA. and yes, Japan...they need to do something about that.

I get where you're coming from, but I think that after 5 years of poor sales, they've given up on Japan. Instead of wasting time there on a reality show (and still having abysmal results), they'd rather concentrate on getting her built up in Korea. K-Pop is now more popular worldwide than J-Pop, so it will be good for BoA both in Korea and throughout the world.

POPULAR
You might not think of it but an artist is no machine. Inspirational ideas just don't come that easily; you have to earn them through a process of self-cultivation. I find it amusing how Utada's fan can be so understanding and tolerant, yet some BoA's fans possess some kind of compulsive control tendency toward their idol. Utada's fans respect her and let her take her break with grace and patiently wait for her. BoA is active in the entertainment scene (though may not be totally music-related) yet her fans diss her left and right, I don't see that kind of mindset even in the younger fans liking idol groups who must be the most active ones doing reality and talk shows and rarely release any materials of quality. There is something in life people should know: Gratitude
One more thing, aside from all the self-promotion benefits BoA gets from doing reality shows, I feel happy because for the first time, in so many years, I get to know the woman behind the music I always adore. I always got one or two tidbits about BoA's personality from the scanty behind-the-scenes clips in the past, but not this up-close and genuine revelation. I see BoA in a whole new light as a human being not just as BoA the singer/ performer.
P/S I suggest some of you guys read BoA's recent interview articles. BoA has a good sense of who she is, and she doesn't seem to care much about sales/ rankings. Sometimes, it feels rather trivial concerning yourself too much with the superficial results that appear even more superfluous in the ever-changing and changeable showbiz.

However, as fans of her music , all we could do is speculate and hope for the best, and BoA's still so young at 25 and has so much potential and that's why we're rooting for her, but at the end of the day, it will be her decisions, not ours. Also, I think the reason why BoA tends to be seen as less of an artist and more of a "machine" is because that's the nature of her career as a Kpop star, and that's what she's done for most of the ten years until recently really when she took the time to be really involved in much of "Hurricane Venus." For the most part, she's been a performer, not an artist really.
