The Hollywood movie COBU 3D, for which BoA was selected as the main character, is scheduled for a national release this year and even the release of a new album is planned.
During a phone call with enews on the 2nd a representative of BoA’s label SM stated “It appears that BoA will have frequent opportunities to meet with fans this year” and “It is planned that an album will be released along with her movie as well.“
In addition he said “Currently we are in the midst of planning what recordings to carry out in relation to the album” and “This will become a year in which she will carry out activities that are more complete than ever” and asked for much love.

We probably will have to wait until the fall.
There isn't any promotions I've seen for the movie in the US yet.  I hope we get a release date soon for both Cobu 3D and the new album.  It's getting hard to wait.

I honestly don't mind waiting if that means more quality is put into the songs, also wouldn't mind some English songs maybe a American Ep cd.

Where is BoA coming back from? BoA has been in South Korea these past months doing a TV show, she didn't go anywhere.

Its just a new album, not a comeback. In K-pop everyday is a comeback.

Korean and Japanese last I heard, BoA also said she wanted to make some more English songs, so Im expecting another english album or ep soon.

"Comeback" is for musically she will be back. Yes, she has been on a show, however she has release nothing new in Korea for 2 years.

Also, liked BRIE said, I don't mind waiting. Quality is better than quantity (that's why I am not a big fan of some stuff being released in Kpop at the moment). The English song release was exciting to hear about when it was tweeted during SMTown. It's smart to wait and release something around the same time as the release of the movie. Now, we just need word of when this movie will be out ;

Exactly, and well said Cori.
Last I heard Cobu was supposed to be released in October for...some area I forget which place =_=;; but that has to mean a Fall release for the USA. Unless they wanna wait till Q1 2013 and release another english album beside it.

The release of COBU 3D would be the best time for BoA to get some exposure in North America & Europe, she should definitely take this opportunity.

BoA hasn't released anything in Korea for a year, not two years. To me a comeback is when you've been away for a long time, two years is not very long, times goes by so fast you know. Overall I'm pessimistic with BoA's activities since she hasn't really wowed me for three years straight, maybe SM will go all out this time with BoA. Compared to other artists in the music scene (by that I mean global music scene, not strictly K-pop) BoA is pretty much irrelevant right now.

Please tell me I'm not the only BoA fan sick and tired of hearing her sing Hurricane Venus + a bunch of old tired ass songs she's performed a gazillion times already.

I don't care whether it is a Korean or US or Japan album. All I want is that she likes what she is doing and we can enjoy her.

If you want to get technical, a year and a half. She released Hurricane Venus' repackaging, Copy & Paste, in September of 2010. Granted, Kpop fans have waited longer and Jpop fans have been waiting for a bit too long for a Japanese album. But in the world of Kpop, a comeback is literally when you comeback with a new album, hell, even REPACKAGES are called comebacks. No matter if the artist or group is involved with variety shows or how long ago their last album was released, they still call it a comeback.

When SMTown LA 2012 was announced, I really didn't feel that bad not going because I knew what BoA was going to perform, sadly. I had already heard her perform those songs a number of times. (Still wish I had gone though, Kpop concerts are just fun and full of a lot of energy) I think SHE, of all people, is getting sick of singing the same songs over and over again. One Dream was probably a breath of fresh air for her because it was newer.

I personally don't care where she releases this new album. I just want something new and more than one or two songs.

HEY GUYS!! im not 100% sure about this:  but her comeback might actually be sooner than we actually think...

I got an email from SOUL stating that SOUL magazine Vol. 37 which was supposed to come out at the end of May will be delayed because of BoA's Korean activities. The next SOUL magazine is supposed to be covering her Korean activities
