I just came into this instance today... You guys should give comments on this...

In regards to a comment recently made... This was pretty much started over the fact that there is this group that ONLY downloads everything... I get really pissed when they just are like "HAHA... YOU PAY FOR YOUR CDS" and I get pretty defensive that I love my CDs and everything... Then they say stuff like "HAHA... I WOULDNT DO THAT... THATS PRETTY STUPID WHEN YOU CAN DOWNLOAD"... pretty much.. I just let off some stress by telling them downloading isnt everything.. I'm notsaying that downloading and all and sampling is evil but that... You should try to support the artists and buy some albums... These people take it to the next level... They "download" everything...

*** BEFORE THE FOLLOWING CONVERSATION *** We were talking about the artists that get low album sales and stuff and how it's bad... I think that we should support the ones we love to motivate them to sing more...

1 - I don't think piracy is good... I personally buy all my CDs
2 - Piracy is great because then you don't have to buy all the tracks for the one song you want
1 - I still don't think it's right... Don't you care about the artists you hurt
3 - Only some artists are worth buying... Like the ones I like...

Honestly... The type of response I'm looking for is what do you think of these people... I try to be nice but people like this don't make me want to be nice... then after... I just get lectured about how unnessary the conversation we just had was...

Personally, I've had this convo before with a few different people but I've never encountered fighting as you illustrate with your letter style.  That said:

Them:
- They take it too seriously, and seem pretty sensitive about it.  But then, that's only them, from your description.

You (may as well, while I'm at it ):
- You may as well state how you intend to use the term piracy; "copyright infringement" is usually a better term.
- Piracy isn't always a bad thing.
- You can use iTunes and the other "online music stores" as examples of a-la-carte buying.  However, those examples won't fly.
- Who's to say the artists are (always) hurt by such activity?
- Motivate?  Sounds like if they knew they wouldn't receive anything in return for their efforts, they'd quit.  Some artists keep at it b/c they love it, others are business-minded.  That's not to endorse any particular activity, that's telling it like it is.
- Last "ME" line: Hah, now it seems you're asserting you're better than they are   j/k
- Makes you not want to be nice?
- Interesting; get their "lecture" about unnecessary-ness in another post here or another thread, let's see what they've got.

Sorry, the way you set things up was too tempting for me NOT to ask you stuff too.

I dont laugh at people who pays for CDs. Thats pretty akward. I buy CDs when I feel like it. I personally download frequently, I have to be honest. In here its legal. But if it was illegal, I would be lost in music.

If u really love a band tat much, you wont mind buying their cd    Just like i love DBSK tat i bought their cd too but ppl who only knows how to download are ppl who doesnt know how to appreciate music

Piracy is illegal in Canada , but everyone does it. Can't stop it. Just leave it.

To be honest I have never bought a single cd in my life ever , but my Itunes says I have over 25 gbs of music. I understand how your trying to "lecture' them but really they won't give a S***.  

Ps:Some anime can only be found on the internet with subtitles

I personally buy most of CD's cause I just love them too! I look after them so well that my Mum and Dad often ask if I took them as my own children. I won't let anyone else touch them! Same with DVDs and stuff like that.

BUT... I have to admit, I do download video clips and SOME songs. Like for example, when there is only one song that I like out of all the songs in the album. I would download it. Other than that, I never download songs.

Its just making the celebrity loose a lot of money and if you're a fan, you'e not supporting enough! I do feel bad when I download even just one song though....

people who download are people who don't know how to appreciate music ... now THERE'S a line.  I'm almost in agreement with AznFob, but I wouldn't use his terminology in response.

"Piracy", aka copyright infringement, is not quite illegal in Canada, though it may soon be.

- Lose a lot of money?  Let's see some figures and percentages before you arrive to that conclusion.  Simple skepticism, that's all.
- Not supporting enough?  "Enough" is a loaded word in this context.  Just b/c you're a fan who downloads stuff doesn't mean you're not supporting "enough" (wow, that actually rhymes ).  Just when is "enough" enough?

erm tis is wat i would do...
i will download a few song first and listen to them... to see if they are nice or not.. if they are nice thn i will get the album... if not nt too bad...
but most of my stuff are originals esp my games and song cds...

^ i do that sometimes with korean albums. But western stuff i just buy the thing, since its like readily available everywhere.
