hinachan, I don't agree with the basis of your argument. I'd say Only One is exactly the kind of song that brings out the fun in BoA. Previously I've always held 'Eien' as her best single - mid-tempo rnb that's perfect for a low-key styling and great dancing. The slight contrast between the smooth rnb and the tough moves is lovely, and it's what she's brought out in Only One. I didn't know how good the song would be when it was revealed she composed it, but it surprised me and is most likely ending up somewhere in the top 3 favorite singles. That has something to do with my tastes and like for rnb, sure, but it's also just an amazingly breezy, elegant, light song and the dance MV shows us how much it brings out the best in her, the dancing, singing, casually cool BoA. There's nothing Mariah Carey or Aguilera about the song at all, and neither about the rest of the album. I'm really happy BoA is more creatively involved and that she's found a songwriter voice greater than what I think any of us imagined. It opens up a whole new chapter in her career.
