I don't really have much time tonight cuz I've got school tomorrow, but I was listening to Amerie's new album "In Love and War" and her new song "Dangerous" is a cover of BoA's "Lose Your Mind".

When I get home, if no one has uploaded a link of the song I'll uploaded in non-BoA downloads via mediafire. If you have heard the song, do you think she did a good job? Is it better than BoA's? Or should Amerie should have left this song in the vault?

Umh... It sounds like a completely different song vocally but the instrumental is the SAME... so I guess it's a Kind of rendition x.x ... I'd have loved having BoA sing it x.x but bleh, I guess it sounds good too x.x

I think this is more of a cover of Lil Eddie's Dangerous. They both have the same instrumental as LOSE YOUR MIND.
I can't find a YT link of Lil Eddie Dangerous, but from what I remember, they sound really alike.

So i'm sure they resold this isntrumental to other artists as well possibly?

Well I don't really like Amerie's version, I think BoA voice's voice better.
If its sampling BoA's Lose Your Mind should at least be mentioned.

Nyah... I really don't like her version of the song. I kept going on and on like "LOSE YOUR MIND~~!" and then she would say something else. Even though I don't really like Lose Your Mind, that's really saying something against Amerie, but maybe I'm being biased. haha.

I like her song. It's good, but too bad Lose Your Mind is still better.

Lose Your Mind's acoustics is livelier and the chorus is fuller. When it comes to the voice though, I don't think I can decide whose is better.

This is way better than BoA's.
Oddly, I like BoA's better but I think this was better composed with less generic notes (though still sorta generic) and better vocals. I'm just not used to this version enough to like it more really.

I noticed the credits that time when BoA released the song, and I thought the original English Version will be in her American Album! Lol~

Yeah, it's just a sampling... I thought it was gonna be a legit cover when i read this lol. But I prefer BoA's version. I think that in Amerie's version, that guitar part is repeated too much @_@ it's these little things in a song that bother me LOOL. Maybe BoA could release the English version of Lose Your Mind, that'd be cool xD

I don't know if we can technically call it a "cover" because the melodies were re-written.

As far as the instrumentation goes, I preferred 'Lose Your Mind' much better. AVEX has some of the best producers, and 'Lose Your Mind' had a freakin amazing production control over bass/treble equalization, and everything sounded much more crisp and livelier. Also, there were a few more instrumentations going on in 'Lose Your Mind' - some parts of 'Dangerous' felt like it was a little bit too less when there was only the cowbells/percussion going on with the bass notes.

Another thing is, 'Lose Your Mind' had the typical AVEX touchwork (SM does this too) where they due the mega-layering of vocal harmonies for the chorus parts with a very tiny bit of autotune (BoA/TVXQ/Girls' Generation all have this trademark, mega-chorus effect). That's not commonly used by American producers, so I wasn't really surprised to hear just Amerie's voice with much less harmonies on this track, but nonetheless, points to AVEX/SM for owning that technique.

Vocals, hard to say... Usually I'd say Amerie might have one up on BoA when it comes down to vocal work, but on this song, it didn't showcase anything impressive of her vocals at all, whereas on 'Lose Your Mind', BoA had a good share of trills, licks, and belts (and was it just me, or did Amerie start sounding really husky near the end? It's making me wonder if the producer had her record a full run).

Either way, I think this is something we can all be happy about. This is going to bring attention for Amerie and for BoA (whether people start fan-wars or not), and right now, both of them can do good with attention.

That's what I thought. And wow I had no idea about the Pussycat and Jordin Sparns part. This isn't the only song out there that had something like this. Tenjochiki's Piranha, Koda's More, the list goes on.

I was shocked to hear this though. Not that I don't like that song but since I'm so used to Lose Your Mind, I can't help but like this one over it.

i kinda dont like amerie cover's of this song....maybe if she did a remix with BoA it would sound good. but no i have to disagree. Amerie should have left this song in the vault with combinations of locks, wire, and dogs patrolling the perimeter. lol just kidding.

AND TO AMERIE FANS, DONT BE MAD AT ME. IM JUST EXPRESSING MY OPINION JUST LIKE YOU AND EVERYBODY ELSE DOES. I like her but this song being compared to BoA's "Lose Your Mind" is not good.

Both Dangerous and LYM got Jonas Jeberg in the credits. I guess I gotta give him a hand for coming up with a catchy melody. LYM's better for me, but I love Dangerous, too. Love both BoA and Amerie!

I don't like DANGEROUS It can't be compared with LOSE YOUR MIND
