Well looks like we have been lookin back & reviewin BoA's journey & achievements this year...
So why not try to look ahead?

What would you like to see from BoA next year?

For me,
1. What I want most would be for BoA to make a Korean comeback on her 10th anniversary... People say that Korea is dominated by the idol groups now but I know BoA will be able to drop a bomb there just by releasin a comeback album...

2. I sure hope that IDENTITY will do very well & help revive BoA's career to the peak again in Japan as well & hopefully, when the time comes that BoA's contract with Avex expires, I do hope that it'll be renewed... I would definitely like to see an amazin live tour in February as well...

3. Maybe BoA should take a break from the US & focus on Asia but I would really like to see a new US single with a very good MV, though I really want it to be well promoted...

I think I have more on my mind but these are the things that I really hope would happen for now...

^ for point 3, i think SME might need to settle the things in them before they can fully focus on BoA and her US career. not to shoot them though. ><

and for me,
definitely want to see her own the stages in Korea again next year for her 10th anni and wished that "Identity" would bring her to the top once again ^^

in 2010 i want her to hopefully release her JP Album IDENTITY and do a tour and release a few more singles
and maybe for her to release a new american single and korean single, and record each song in the other language as a b-side for double awesome and then to release her comeback korean album on her anniversary date or towards the end of the year, maybe have a tour in korean and then some more singles and possibly go back to american in 2010 and do her promotional thing and get ready for a new american album in 2011 or maybe move the korean album to 2011 and new american album to 2012 so she has time to breath and stuff cuz shed be pretty tired if she had to release two albums in one year o.o

For Identity, I hope to see a well-planned, well-prepared album, with most of the songs in it qualified as single material. I am definitely not expecting this album to be a top-seller in the year but I wish it catapults BoA back to her status before, with succeeding hit-material singles. In connection to the album, she should definitely get more exposure through the media like by doing more performances, interviews, and special lives.

Next, I also wish that she makes a Korean album next year, maybe by the last half of the year. Korean fans have been so deprived of her music Korea's in need of an artist like her in times like this.

About her US activities, sorry to some of you but I want her to reclaim her top status first before going back to the states.

Finally, I just want to see that passion which she used to have whenever she sings her music.

Yea man... She seems to have been lackin that for some time... Really wish she can perform like how she did durin her old times in Korea...

Basically everything you said Even that part about the States. I feel that there was so much time and energy wasted on it x.x Or at least release a US album when she's ONLY IN THE US. Not jetlagging back and forth.

And when (not if. hopefully...) she has a Korean comeback, hopefully SME will promote her well in Korea, because although Japan and US are full of artists, there are only so many idols in Korea and she's still very well known. (: So when she does go back to Korea, SME better not screw up @_@

In the next year,I really hope BoA will improve her vocal technique,I do want her to stop her nasally singing.I love BoA but I can't can't stand her recent prefs.
I also hope BoA will hold a concert to celebrate her 10 years and new Korean album,too.

2. Not sure how to say this but better songs? Not that her songs are bad but I'd like to see songs that are more catchy like her old ones

I just want IDENTITY to sell (and sound) extremely well just so people know shes still fighting and maybe even bring her up to her second peak. I'm not too concerned about the whole "Korean Comeback" thing though... With BoA's new style I'm not sure if her material would suit Korea's current stage in music (Boy/girlbands). But anything can happen ...

1. a successful jp album
2. a better campaign in the US
3. regain the top spot in asian market

Firstly, I want a bright start to the year with Identity selling a respectable number and it having a sound fans will crave again and again. Regarding the Korean comeback, I think many people believe it's long overdue and considering she's still quite popular back home, it'd give her an opportunity to be back on top in some form. In all honesty, if BoA doesn't return to the US market next year, or even ever again, I won't be too disappointed. I really enjoyed the album she gave us, but she needs to focus on Asia right now. Overall, even if it isn't the most commerically succesful in 2010, I want the music to be something that BoA and the fans can be extremely proud of.

1.After the japanese tour and new japanese album I want her to take a break from the japanese music scene.
2.I want a comeback album for the 10th Anniversery of her korean debut.
3.I want a new English single, something that isn't made by sean garrett or from the BoA album at all, something new and something that sounds like her korean style.

Bottom line I want her to focus on Korea and USA this year.

Agreed. SM owes the Korean fans big-time. I say SM because I know BoA would be more than willing to do another Korean album--there's no doubt she would want to reclaim her position as Korea's top female vocalist.


I'd like to see that, too, but I have major doubts. She needs some massively catchy singles, and material like Bump Bump--while cute enough--doesn't qualify. Something on the level of Valenti is what's needed, and it's just not forthcoming, I fear.


How can you take a break from something that never existed in the first place? She did a few things here, none of which were promoted well. To succeed here, they need to drop the whole "SM America" nonsense and get her hooked up with some good American promoters who know what they're doing. There's no way a bunch of newbies from Korea will ever have the established connections to help BoA make it here.

For now, IMHO, the best route would be a Korean comeback, and then take it from there.

1. I want Identity to be a GREAT album that sells well. I'd like to see her back on top in Japan.
2. I want to see more BoA productions/creations. It doesn't have to be for her music, but I'd like to see her own input on just SOMETHING.
3. I'd like to hear a less nasally and more powerful BoA, if that's possible. I think she wore out her vocals by working so hard nonstop for 10 years, a result for her more raspy and coarse vocals. Not sure how she could improve that. =\
4. A charismatic BoA. SF Pride performances were good energy-wise, but her J-Wave and Bump Bump! lives were pretty disappointing. Her vocals were decent enough, but she lacks a passion or interest in performing sometimes (more often in the last few years).
5. I'm not too concerned about her US next album. She needs to patch things up in Asia before heading over to the states.
6. About her Korean comeback... while I would definitely like to see her on Inkigayo and Music Bank and all the end of year shows, I think it would be wasted with the huge group craze right now. It seems all Korea wants are groups (none of the soloists are doing as well anymore). After the intense Korean promotions (Korean singers perform several times a week), I think her voice would be even more coarse.

You're right abt the soloists in Korea not doin well now but with the amount of fans that BoA still has there, it wouldn't be a problem for her to reclaim her top spot...
But I sure hope she won't over-exert herself... Btw, aren't most Korean perfs lip-synched? You don't really have to worry much abt BoA's voice...

But 2007 on, I see very little lipsynching, except for the special stages.
That's probably one reason why they use groups... it's a lot easier to sing live since the members only have to use their vocals for a short amount of time, and they won't tire out so easily since they don't sing that much.

For 2010, I hope that BoA:

1) Will focus on on her Asian music.
I really like her Asian Music, whether it's Korean, Japanese or even Chinese (I'm a Singaporean Chinese, btw).
I think she should 'take over' more parts of Asia first before putting the focus on the US market.
Although her US album was good, I still prefer all her Asian hits.
The US ones just lack that bit of emotions with all that auto-tuned vocals etc.
Like maybe she can include more Asian cities for her tour - Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur AND SINGAPORE!
(It's so rare to have her in Singapore. She's only here for events like MTV Asia Awards some years back.)
And erm, perhaps she can write more songs like 'The End Soshite And' etc. It's pretty good. =P

2) GET ENOUGH REST!
As much as I hope to see and hear more of her, I think she should get enough rest.
She only 23 and should be enjoying life like any other young adults would at this point in their lives.

This is kinda self-explanatory eh?
We want a happy BoA! xD

First off, I really want BoA to re-establish herself as THE star in Japan; she needs to go back to the powerful belting from her earlier days; no singing through her nose! Start chest-belting (is that the correct terminology, lols?) and giving it her all again; I want to see another power ballad like "Everlasting" or "Winter Love" and a sassy, strong dance beat like "Valenti," but more mature of course and with her improved technical control. BoA's improved control+power voice= absolute WIN

Second, I really want BoA to push back her album release date. Why? Because I want to give her time to develop her style, experiment, find her own music and find a compromise between her likes and the public's so that she has the sales AND can express herself truly. I don't mind love songs, but BoA has said so herself, she has very limited experience with love itself. I want her to take a bit of time off to figure out what SHE wants to express, not Avex/SM Ent.

And thirdly... Korean comeback of course! Korea is waaaaayyyy too dominated by idol groups, especially girlgroups. BoA needs to go back there and show who's BOSS yo. I'm serious, I want BoA back in Korea to show them how it's done; show what a real diva is like (it's either BoA or CSJH that needs to do that, lols)! Power vocals+dancing= diva yo and BoA is the perfect example of that.

And fourth... BoA and Jaejoong, get dating, lols! Hey, they would have adorable/gorgeous/beautiful/future Heartbreaker (XD) children...

I totally agree... Get back on top of Japan and then go to Korea and remind them who the Best of Asia is . I'm kind of sick of all the groups myself... I think the rest of the world got passed that phase but maybe there some groups out there. The fad definitely died in America though -__-

Actually, she has done it even in her GOT days.
She lipsynced We when she performed it at some awards show with GOT.
Although GOT was nearly 5 years ago, it was her most recent work in Korea, so I see why they brought up lipsyncing ballads when they talked about Korea.

Yeah... I never understood why she lipped almost all her ballads on the Korean programs unless it was on Yoon Doh Hyun's Love Letter or the Kim Yoonah show... Anyways, I would love a Korean comeback but I highly doubt it'll happen. I don't like the short hair on her either, so growing that out would be nice. =X

AND most of all, I'd like for BoA to re-find that spark she had when she was performing. It's been gone since 2007. Or somewhere after BOS... It's frustrating to watch her performances these days especially when it seems like she's miles away from where she is. No wonder her career seems to be declining in Japan. She was most popular when she had that special twinkle in her eye when she was performing. As soon as that was gone, her popularity went down. She just doesn't look so enthusiastic anymore. It's hard to root for a singer when she/he doesn't look like they want to be on stage, and BoA has not looked like she wanted to be on stage for a while now.

Rest, genuine smiles, Korean comeback, full participation on ALL her future albums/singles, better music and better dance moves. That's all I really want from her. Oh, yeah, also if she can squeeze it in: a series of concerts in the US. It doesn't have to be big venues.

I like her in Japan...I want to see where this album goes. I hope she doesn't change her style of music to R&B...it's great to be an admirer of Hip-Hop culture and R&B, but it's another to try and sing it when you lack the vocals for it. The End may or may not have good lyrics (I didn't read them yet), but that style of music is not for her. Even the past R&B attempts were horrible to me. I hope she grows back the hair and wears clothes that fit her body. The wardrobe for that live of Eien in A-nation was the worst thing I've ever seen her wear.

If she doesn't do any of that however, I wouldn't care that much.

I agree with you...

1. BoA needs to make sure her album is perfect. Like perfect to the core. Everything in there is able to be promoted. It needs to be number 1. And make sure that herself, is happy and content with it.
2. Get more rest. I don't like seeing Unnie all tired..with no energy on stage. I miss the performances that had the energy and charisma to it.
3. KOREAN COMEBACK. She shall pwn everyone else.. again, I'm BoA- biased no matter what. But she needs to get back into Korea..and oh yeah.

Hmmm, it seems like everyone wants her to have a Korean comeback. I guess that would be a good idea if her upcoming Japanese album doesn't do so well.

I want too see that BoA make a comeback in Korea. After Japan, of course, she's currently in Japan now. Kpop is getting really famous here in our country. So i guess if BoA will make another Korean album, she will also be made famous here in our country.

I saw a youtube video compilation of a Korean concert where 12000+ (I think) fans came to see her, and she was overwhelmed, kneeled down and started crying. I don't know this BoA, but it was nice to see her displaying her feelings like that. What feelings do we get from her now? Just a workaholic...I think this is why I compare her to a robot...she just seems emotionless now. I think I see now why some people don't like BoA's current image. Her "hardcore" self reflects nothing of her personality back then where she showed her appreciation through her tears. I don't think we will be seeing anything like that from her now.
